Parking at the Finish:Most people park at the finish area which is Kents Bank and use either the train or our transport to get to the start area. The post code to park here is LA11 7BG and we ask that you only park down the left hand side of Kents Bank Road. Please see the enclosed transport sheet for details of transport options to the start area.

Parking at the Start:Some people choose to park at Arnside, the start of the event, although there is limited parking. The postcode for Arnside is LA5 0AA. There are trains that will get you back to the start after the event finishes. Please see enclosed transport details for more details.

Galloway’s Transport:We offer transport from various pick up points. This will be at a

suggested donation of £6 return journey and must be booked. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. After the event you will be transported back to the original pick up point.

The walk on Saturday 25th July will start at 11.45am and the walk on Sunday 26th July will start at 1.00pm. Please ensure that you are at our registration desks at least half an hour before the start time so that we can ensure we have registered you in before the event. On registering, you will receive your t-shirt and receive any additional walk details. Registration will take place underneath the clock tower. This area will be clearly marked for your ease. After registering, follow guidance from marshals and Galloway’s volunteers who will direct you to the start point. Please don’t go on the sand at Arnside.

Tshirts:On registering on the day – you will receive your walker tshirt. Please wear this over your clothing so it is clear to us you are with the Galloway’s group.

What should I bring? We advise that you wear an old pair of trainers, no boots should be worn. Many people walk bare feet once they reach the sands at White Creek. Remember you need to be prepared to get your legs wet! Its advisable to bring a rucksack, a packed lunch, a hat, sun cream, wind proof clothing, a towel, a change of clothes and most importantly yourself and a smile!

Other Questions:Can I bring a dog?Yes, as long as it’s kept on a lead and you bring water for it to drink along the route and ensure you tidy after it.

Can I buy refreshments along the route? There is a café approx. 45 minutes into the walk, just as you enter the caravan park before White Creek. You can also use toilets in this café should you buy something. Drinks and snacks will be available to buy after the walk.

Are there any breaks? At White Creek, we pause for around 20 minutes to gather our group together again before crossing the sands. Many people choose to have a drink and snack at this point.

Will I get wet?Yes! The best bit is wading across the Kent Channel so please be prepared to get your legs wet.

How long will it take?Anywhere between 3.5 & 4.5 hours .
