This two year management course seeks to raise leaders for the present-day corporate world. A lot of candidates often get confused as to why some institutes offer a PGDBM degree while others MBA-Business Management when the course is almost similar; well the difference in the degree name is on account of the accreditation of the institute. In India only those B-schools that are affiliated to a university can offer an MBA degree while autonomous institutes like the IIM’s can offer only a PGDM degree. the present-day corporate world.
A lot of candidates often get confused as to why some institutes offer a
PGDBM degree while others MBA-Business Management when the course
is almost similar; well the difference in the degree name is on account of the
accreditation of the institute. In India only those B-schools that are
affiliated to a university can offer an MBA degree while autonomous
institutes like the IIM’s can offer only a PGDM degree. One must however

Eligibility for MBA-Business Management
In order to pursue an MBA, one must have pursued at least a 3 year Bachelor’s
Degree Programme from a recognized university. Admissions are based upon
scores achieved in entrance tests, GD and personal interview.
Subjects studied while pursuing MBA-Business Management
The MBA programme is divided in two years with two semesters each. During
these semesters students study subjects like Organizational Behavior,
Managerial Economics, Marketing & Human Resources Management,
Production & Operations Management , Strategic Analysis and International
Business Environment. A candidate is required to undergo summer training
in an organization after the completion of the 1st year.
Career Options
Which business organization doesn’t need a manager? There are umpteen
career options for a person holding an MBA degree in Business Management.
One can look at applying for managerial vacancies in a Government or
private company, in a manufacturing or trading organization, in
export/import companies, advertising agencies or even venture into a
business of their own.
