A SIGNIFICANT DAY“And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a

strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in whichthey were” (Acts 2:2). The Holy Spirit’s arrival on that firstPentecost was signaled by a rush of wind. We all knowwhat it’s like when our windows are open just as a summerstorm rises up. Curtains fly, papers become airborne,house plants shudder, dust is scattered. A rush of winddisrupts the orderliness of our home. The coming of theHoly Spirit, as celebrated each year at Pentecost, can alsodisrupt ways that have become comfortable and orderly.The Church always needs Pentecost. We need the breath of

God’s Spirit to blow away any complacency or malaise thathas settled into our faith. Jesus breathes on his disciplesand they receive the Holy Spirit. With that reception comesthe power to share the Good News of salvation. Today, thisis no less true for us. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

What is RCIA?

RCIA stands for the Rite of ChristianInitiation of Adults and it is the proc-

The RCIA is for three groups of peo-ple:

1. Those who are not baptized2. Those who were baptized into an-

other Christian denomination andwish to enter into full communionwith the Catholic Church.

3. Baptized Catholics who werenever formed in the Catholic faithand have not completed their ini-tiation; that is, who have never re-ceived the sacraments of Confir-mation and or Eucharist.

Classes and CostsClasses are held on Tuesday eveningsfrom 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. here at St.Albert the Great.
