Dr. Michael Matsuda: “Hard and soft tissue procedures to be performed around implants and natural teeth, in addition to using CBCT to help with case selection and predictability of results” Dr. Michael Matsuda graduated from the University of the Pacific, Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He then completed a Residency at OHSU in Periodontics and Implantology, and is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Matsuda joined his father, Dr. Mel Matsuda, in private practice in Hillsboro. He is active in several professional organizations, including the Board of WCDS, provides educational services for dental hygiene schools and OHSU, and participates in study clubs.
Mr. Bill Shults: “Dentistry in Nepal” Mr. Bill Shults is a Firefighter with Forest Grove Fire and Rescue. He spent three weeks in a remote part of east Nepal in 2008. Sponsored in part by the Beaverton Rotary, he accompanied a local dentist to a hospital clinic run by Himalayan Healthcare. They set up the first dental sealant program in Nepal, and taught the local clinic staff how to place sealants. They hosted a dental clinic where patients were provided with sealants, dental restorations and extractions. Dr. Tony Bouneff was instrumental in supporting this effort with donated dental equipment and sound surgical advise. Mr. Shults looks forward to sharing his experiences with you.
Dr. Michelle Stafford: “Once Upon a Pano” Dr. Michelle Stafford will share several interesting panoramic radiographs and discuss various interesting findings such as mesiodens, supernumeraries, congenitally missing teeth and other curiosities. She will also talk about the necessity of radiographs within the standard of care in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Stafford is the owner dentist of World of Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. A graduate of University of the Pacific, Dugoni School of Dentistry, she then completed a Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in 2008 and opened the doors to World of Smiles.
