MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY
Introduction
• We have chosen to do our assembly about May being the month of Mary
• During this month we try to go to her more frequently and ask her for many things
• As a class we have been looking at Mary’s prayer the Hail Mary and thinking about what it means.
Hail Mary• When you greet someone of importance you
often say hail• Mary is important for Catholics because she is
the mother of God.• Not only is she God’s mother she is our
mother in Heaven too.
Full of Grace• Mary is the only creature on earth that was
born without sin in her soul• For this reason she is full of grace• Grace means gifts given by God• Mary has many gifts: Beauty, love, peace,
patience, forgiveness to name just a few
The Lord is with thee• Mary and Jesus are always together• When we pray to Mary, Jesus is always at her
side• When we pray to God, Mary is always near
Blessed art thou amongst women
• Of all women Mary is the most Holy• We look to her as our model
Blessed is the fruit of they womb Jesus
• Jesus was born of Mary in a stable in Bethlehem
• Mary said ‘Yes’ to God when he asked her to give birth to his Son.
Holy Mary, mother of God
Pray for us sinners• Sometimes we make mistakes• We hurt God by the things we do and say• But God is a loving father, he welcomes us
back with open arms • He always forgives no matter what we have
done• Mary prays for us, that we choose to do good
Now and at the hour of our death
• One day our life on earth will come to an end• At that moment we want Mary to be next to
us, holding our hand and taking us to Heaven
Amen• This means we believe everything we have
just prayed
Holy Rosary• This is a picture of a rosary• It is Mary’s special prayer• She asked three shepherd children in Fatima
to pray it often and tell others to pray
