Prayers for Those Who Serve: Co. Cmdr. Gary Anthony DiVito, Maj. Ron Hustwit Jr, Lt. Col. Loren Kirchner, 2nd Lt. Leah Mullenix, Lt. Doug Porr, Sgt. Ed Schafrath Jr, 1st Lt. Miles Stebbins Prayer Line: To add someone’s name to the prayer line, call the Parish office. Names are on our prayer list for one month. To carry a name longer, please contact the Parish Office.

Dear Parishioners: This weekend, we rejoice in two marvelous occasions. First, on Saturday evening, we celebrate permanent Dea-con Bob Zerrer’s Mass of Thanksgiving and beginning of ministry. Long before entering formation, Bob and Lee have been very engaged and giving members of St. Mary Parish. This includes Bob being a long-term catechist in our Parish School of Religion and Bob and Lee’s serving as a mentor couple to engaged couples preparing for Mat-rimony. What a gift to the Church!! Secondly, on Sunday morning at the 11 o’clock Mass, our first group of First Communicants will approach the altar to receive the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We have listed, elsewhere in this issue, the names of all our sons and daughters who anticipate that sacrament this spring. I encourage you to clip it and post it somewhere as a reminder to pray for them continually. On Wednesday of this past week, Deacon Richard Samide—currently a transitional deacon for the Diocese of Cleveland, very soon to be ordained to the Presbyterate (priesthood) and assigned to be the next Parochial Vic-ar of St. Mary— made a visit to the parish to meet our staff and have an initial tour of the place. Deacon Rich-ard is one of three children, and his family are part of the community of Saint Mary, Hudson (a parish that has been blessed with many vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life). Deacon Richard’s brother, Daniel, was just ordained a transitional deacon on Friday, April 27. The photo below was taken on that occasion. It is rather unique that two brothers are overlapping as transitional deacons for a few weeks until Deacon Richard is ordained as a priest on May 19. Deacon Richard vested his brother at his ordination on April 27 and Deacon Daniel will play a role in his brother’s priestly ordination.

Peace in this Easter Season,

Blessings and Congratulations to newly-ordained

Deacon Bob Zerrer

and to his whole family: Lee (Spouse)

and children

The all-inclusive international trip cost is $3,500 and includes an overnight hotel stay in Dubai. Only addi-tional expense is for your souvenirs or sight-seeing.

If interested, contact Dorene and Mark Miller at (330-465-7177) at [email protected]. This will be an adventure you will never forget!
