SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR WEEK OF MAY 30, 2010

The Most Holy Trinity is the highest Mystery of our faith and even though it is beyond our human comprehension, still we are able to understand some things about our Trinitarian God, while here on this earth, through prayer, scripture, worship and faith. I have heard the phrase that a mystery is not a wall to run up against, but an ocean in which to swim.

Our Trinitarian God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, have gifted us with many of His attributes, of course, as much as it is possible for us to receive those gifts. For instance, we know that God is a unity of love. A family of three persons united in love. And therefore “God is love”. He has shared that love with us and has made us His creatures part of his family of love, because of that, God is willing to share in our nature to transform it and to help us to become loving like Him.

We believe that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are distinct from one another, but they are the most perfect unity. The Holy Trinity is the foundation, beginning, and end, of the Christian faith and experience. We are invited into this family of love every time we pray or gather in community. We begin all of our prayers with the Trinitarian formula of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We offer all of our blessings in the same way. As we enter into this understanding of familial love, we are transformed by it and hopefully we more fully live out that same love in our daily lives as a Trinitarian people created in the image of God. I invite you all to join me to praise the Most Holy Trinity and I pray for all of us to continue growing in unity, in the love of God.

La Santísima Trinidad es el más grande misterio de nuestra fe y aunque esta más allá de la comprensión humana, aun así podemos entender algunas cosas acerca de nuestro Dios Trinitario mientras estamos aquí en la tierra, mediante la oración, las escrituras, adoración y la fe. Yo he escuchado la frase que un misterio no es una pared para chocarnos con ella, sino un océano en el cual podemos nadar. Nuestro Dios Trinitario, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, nos ha bendecido con muchos de Sus atributos, por supuesto, tantos dones como nos es posible para nosotros recibir. Por ejemplo, nosotros sabemos que Dios es una unidad de amor. Una familia de tres personas unidas por el amor. Por consiguiente, “Dios es amor”. El ha compartido ese amor con nosotros sus criaturas y nos ha hecho parte de su familia de amor, por esa razón, Dios esta dispuesto a compartir nuestra naturaleza para transformarla y ayudarnos a que seamos amorosos como El. Nosotros creemos que el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo son distintos entre Si, pero también que son la más perfecta unión. La Santísima Trinidad es la base, el principio y el fin, de la fe y la experiencia Cristiana. Nosotros somos invitados a ser parte de esta familia de amor cada vez que oramos juntos o nos unimos en comunidad. Nosotros comenzamos nuestras oraciones con la formula Trinitaria del Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. También ofrecemos todas nuestras oraciones de la misma manera. The Knights of Columbus in conjunction with the Pastoral Council and the Respect Life Committee are in the process of installing a meditative garden dedicated to Right to Life. The Knights of Columbus are installing a monument especially designed and created to honor the Right to Life Ministry and the beautiful garden being installed with it is made possible by a grant from the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Come together with tens of thousands of Catholics and others from St. Theresa's for a day of spiritual renewal, focusing on the Living Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Saturday June 5th at the Eucharistic Congress! The Eucharistic Congress is a free event held at the Georgia International Convention Center which begins on Friday evening, June 4th, with a healing service and Young Adult REVIVE. Saturday has something for everyone, a day of fun for kids ages 5-11 in the Kid Track, Teens have praise and worship with Matt Maher and other performers in the Teen Track, and adults have several venues to attend including a great vendor hall for shopping. Join others from St. Theresa's for an amazing day to spend with your family!
