HOC5 FAMILY ACTIVITIES May 24, 2020
ELEMENTARY ART CHALLENGE
Create your own unique version of our HOC5 Kids! logo to be shown on our Sunday YouTube lesson.
Kids can choose the color and style and use any artistic medium they like. Pencil, crayons, watercolor, glitter glue, a whiteboard, play dough, sidewalk chalk, toothpicks, legos, flower petals …….anything goes.
Just make sure it contains the 2 words: HOC5 Kids!
Decorate it any way. Dinosaurs, basketball, unicorns, outdoorsy, sparkly, draw your friends and family, a cross, or just have the words. Kids can create something all by themselves or the whole family can join in. It’s all good, so just have fun with it.
Take a photo of your finished project and text to Stacy @ 650-492-0043 or email [email protected].
No rush, we will continue to feature your creations over the next 2 months.
We will show some each week on our video bible lesson.
No names on the artwork page, but we will include your first name when we feature your creation in the episode.

FOR YOUNGER KIDS: FIST PUPPETS Supplies: Washable markers Directions: Instruct everyone to make a Fist Puppet like the one in the picture. Using a washable marker, draw a face on the thumb-side of your fist. When finished, practice saying the Bible verse below until everyone has it memorized.
“Some people did accept him and did believe in his name. He gave them the right
to become children of God.” John 1:12 (NIrV) Next, have someone go first and recite the verse while moving their Fist Puppet’s mouth (their thumb) up and down like a ventriloquist. For added fun, encourage everyone to say the verse in a funny voice without moving their lips. Continue until everyone has had a turn. Question: What do you think it means to be a child of God? How does that make you feel? FOR OLDER KIDS: WHO AM I Supplies: Paper and a pen Set up: Write each of the following names/events on a separate note card or piece of paper: Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Samson, David, Gabriel, Baby Jesus, the Cross, and Paul. Directions: Place the 12 pieces of paper face down. Have someone randomly select a card, look at it in private, and then act it out without using words. Everyone else will try to guess what they are acting. Allow everyone to take turns acting until each of the cards has been guessed. When all of the cards have been guessed, work as a group to lay the cards on the floor in the correct order (Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Samson, David, Gabriel, Baby Jesus, the Cross, and Paul.) Afterwards, see if you can remember what happened in the Big Bible Story for each of the cards. When finished, ask the following question: Question: What do you think it means to be a part of God’s story?
