At a recent Technical Committee meeting Hanshi has reviewed and revised, along with the Technical Committee, certain National Grading
requirements in relation to the Refereeing Qualifications. Candidates attempting 3rd Dan will now be expected to attend the
relevant courses and take three (out of 4) theoretical examinations. Candidates attempting 2nd Dan will now be expected to attend the relevant courses and take two out of four theoretical examinations.
DBS (formerly CRB) Certificates for BKK Instructors.
The BKK are offering an alternative process to obtain DBS via Sensei Tony White and with immediate effect, the BKK
can now administer DBS Checks (formerly known as CRB checks) for BKK dojo operators, instructors and volunteer helpers. It is advisable for all dojo operators to obtain
DBS certificates for anyone they appoint to help instruct at their clubs.
See below for full details of the process.
National Grading Course/Seminar
Following last years successful Grading Course Liam Keaveney (7th Dan) will be holding a Grading Course/Seminar for anyone attempting National Grading
this year (ie 1st Dan to 3rd Dan). The course will be three to four hours long and although in dogi it will be informal to enable all to maximize the
benefits and an exchange of views.
The course will cover all aspects of the grading and procedures etc - as for some people attempting grading they are perhaps not fully aware of what is
expected of them at a number of levels. Places will be limited and the course is expected to be held at Kokoro Dojo (in Bishops Stortford).
The date of the course will be in June/July subject to demand. Cost of the course will be circa £20.00 and all proceeds will be donated to
Macmillan Cancer Support.
In the first instance, if you are interested in attending, can you please e mail Liam Keaveney: [email protected]

The British Karate Kyokushinkai will be hosting a two day event at the O2 on the 16th & 17th July 2016. This a great opportunity for our association to show-case ourselves to the wider sports & fitness community via Seni. There are multiple events going-on and whether you have paid for competing or spectating you will have access to the vast majority of these. In light of us wanting to show the best of ourselves and the limited numbers allowed in each category, entries for competing will be controlled by a nominated member of the B.K.K, so we can adhere to the schedule.
We hope that you will support us by taking part in one capacity or another. You have the opportunity to compete/spectate on day 1 or take part in our 1hr 15mins seminars on the Sunday (different fitness/combat/beauty events run on each day).
On the face of it £25 (one day entry or competitors fee) will seem expensive, but the public is paying this just to enter, whereas you have the opportunity to participate and spectate on the same day for the same fee.
Family/child/weekend tickets are available at discounted amounts
Buy your tickets direct from our site set-up for this event
www.kyokushinkaiatseni.com
All information and updates will be appear here leading up to the event.
Day 1 (16th) will be competition day for us including knockdown/Clicker/Adv Clicker & Kata.
Day 2 (17th) We will be holding 3 seminars run by our national coach’s in Knockdown/Kata/traditional clicker.
DBS (formerly CRB) Certificates For BKK Instructors With immediate effect, the BKK can now administer DBS Checks (formerly known as CRB
checks) for BKK dojo operators, instructors and volunteer helpers . It is advisable for all dojo
operators to obtain DBS certificates for anyone they appoint to help instruct at their clubs.
The BKK requires a copy of all dojo operator’s DBS certificates as part of the annual Dojo
affiliation process. If you do not have a current DBS certificate (they are valid for three
years), please contact Sensei Tony White [email protected] who will be able to help you obtain yours quickly and easily.
The Process The process for obtaining a DBS certificate is very simple. Sensei Tony will direct you to a
secure online form, which once complete will enable our nominated DBS application provider
to apply for the relevant checks from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Once these
checks have been completed, your certificate will be sent to you directly through the post.
You should then post or email a copy to Linda Keaveney.
The Cost The cost of a full disclosure certificate for the main club instructor is approx. £60. Certificates
for volunteer helpers are around £20.
