MAY 2016 Duttons divers news! Welcome to the first of Duttons divers newsletters. We want to use this as a way of sharing our students’ experiences of diving so that you can share their success in entering the underwater world with us. We hope that through publishing real student divers’ experience we will encourage others into this amazing activity. We also hope to get all of you amazing divers out their communicating with us, where we can share fantastic dive sites, equipment reviews and generally use this page each month as a means to support and educate each other in order to make everyone’s underwater adventure even more spectacular. Clare Dutton, PADI Staff Instructor. What’s new? This month we have been very busy! We showed our support at the first of hopefully many Dive shows in the Northwest. It was a pleasure to support the Great Northern Dive show , which we look forward to again next year. A massive thank you to all that came to our stall and even booked onto out trips and courses. We encouraged lots of young new divers! We attended the Mid-Cheshire collage careers fair , where we had the opportunity to get young ones into a scuba diving career. We hope to see many of you around the world teaching in the future! We joined forces with the amazing Daivoon dive center in Lanzarote ! As you can imagine we are very excited to be working with our friends in the beautiful Costa Teguise. We are now running regular trips and training courses for those of you wanting some sun whilst learning Scuba! Please ask us for more information if you are interested, all of our courses can be taught abroad. We support the sea! This month we joined the Marine conservation society , to do our bit to encourage conservation and restoration projects to project our marine life. Duttons divers, PADI Staff Instructor Clare Dutton. What’s new?

This month we have been very busy! We showed our support at the first of hopefully many Dive shows in the Northwest. It was a pleasure to support the Great Northern Dive show, which we look forward to

again next year. A massive thank you to all that came to our stall and even booked onto out trips and courses.

We encouraged lots of young new divers! We attended the Mid-Cheshire collage careers fair , where we had the opportunity to get young ones into a scuba diving career. We hope to see many of you

around the world teaching in the future! We joined forces with the amazing Daivoon dive center in Lanzarote! As you can imagine we are very excited to be working with our friends in the beautiful Costa Teguise. We are now running regular

trips and training courses for those of you wanting some sun whilst learning Scuba! Please ask us for more information if you are interested, all of our courses can be taught abroad.

We support the sea! This month we joined the Marine conservation society, to do our bit to encourage conservation and restoration projects to project our marine life.

Dive site of the month

Our favorite dive site this month has to be the spectacular Playa Chica Lanzarote! The site offers

amazing diving for the beginner and more advanced diver, with the opportunity to remain at a lovely 18 meters, whilst encountering stingrays (a must see from me!), electric rays, octopus and angel sharks.

Our maximum depth was a nice 26 meters, the visibility was spectacular and we just did not want to

leave!

Pia’s experience…

We wanted to give you an idea of what it’s like to dive in Lanzarote, and who better to ask than one of Lanzarote’s own Divemaster’s Pia Haedecke, who does such a fantastic job of guiding new and

experienced divers every day! ‘It may not be as famous as diving in Egypt, the Maldives or Indonesia, but it is really exciting to go diving here and never gets boring. I have worked in Lanzarote as a Divemaster for six months now and still enjoy

every dive! There are a lot of different dive sites to discover. In Puerto del Carmen you can find a really nice big cave, called ‘The Cathedral”, and in the North you can usually find a lot of rays and Angel-sharks and in

the South, large schools of fish. The variety is amazing!

The best dive I have done here is called “The Chimney”. It is a dive site in the North. We went inside a lava tube down in the ground and dived up to the exit. The light fell down through the holes inside the lava and

created an amazing atmosphere. The bubbles from our breathing made noises inside, this made it both funny and spooky at the same time. We were extremely fortunate to find an Angle-shark and ray as well,

making the dive absolutely perfect.

The landscape here on this volcanic island is beautiful. The lava created a lot of special places both on land and underwater, it’s always a pleasure to explore it.

Thank you Pia for sharing your experience with us, we hope it encourages many others to explore this

amazing Island.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us Pia…we really hope this encourages

others to take the trip and dive around this fantastic island.

Photo of the month The best photo award goes to Richard Frost with his image of the Manta rays in the Maldives. These inquisitive marine animals are a must see on any divers bucket list. Their gracious movements and careless attitude are sure to have any diver in awe. I myself had the pleasure of witnessing these fascinating creatures in Riviera Maya, Mexico last year and have booked the next few Duttons divers trips around destinations to see them! If you would like your photo to be shown please send it to us this month, or tag ‘duttons divers’ into your comments on Facebook! We would love to see them.
