Don’t Let Up Can it be, another school year is
quickly coming to the end. Raiders,
with about a month of school left, it is
safe to say we are about ready for
school to be over with. With it being
so close to summer, it is very tempting
to just give up on these last few
weeks of school. We must finish the
school year strong.
For almost 10 months, I have seen
our students and their accomplish-
ments light up classrooms, auditori-
ums, music rooms, gymnasiums and
athletic fields or courts. All of our
students have accomplished so much
throughout this year. The support
from parents, faculty members, and
the communities for these accomplish-
ments has been tremendous. Howev-
er, we are not done. We have a num-
ber of events coming up to finish out
the 2013-14 school year.
School Board Election 2014: Three school board positions will
be up for election on June 17, 2014.
Two of the three positions will be for
three year terms and the remaining
position will be for a two year term.
To vote in this school board election
you must be a registered voter.
2014 Senior Class Trip Coming: The Senior trip will happen the
first weekend of May, 1st through the
6th. The actual dates have not been
finalized due to the fact that that
weekend is the Howard Wood Dakota
Relays. GOOD LUCK SENIORS!
2014 Drivers’ Education: The Oldham-Ramona School Dis-
trict will be offering Drivers’ Educa-
tion to students who will be turning 14
years old before January 1, 2015. The
course will take place right after
school lets out on May 22nd. The cost
for enrollment in Drivers’ Education is
$200. The class will begin on Tues-
day, May 27th and will end on Monday,
June 9th. Class will begin at 8:00 a.m.
and end at 11:00 a.m. with driving to
follow after the class time. Mr.
Koster will teach both the classroom
and driving parts of the class. Stu-
dents are required to complete 30
hours of classroom instruction. The
30 hours are mandated by the state
so attendance is required for all of
the class times. A letter has been
sent out to those eligible for the driv-
ers’ education class. Students inter-
ested in taking this class should re-
turn the sign-up portion of the letter
to the office by May 1st.
Graduation Details Our graduation ceremony will take
place on May 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in
the Oldham-Ramona Gymnasium (220
W. 2nd Street, Ramona, South Dakota
57054). Our seniors have determined
the following:
Class Motto: “Do not follow where the
path may lead; go instead where
there is no path and leave a trail.” - - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Class Flower: Rose
Class Colors: Black, Silver and Aqua
Junior/Senior High Awards Day: You are invited to the Junior/
Senior High Awards Day that will take
place on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at
2:15 p.m. Once again judging by the
preliminary awards program, we have
another huge amount of awards to give
to very deserving students. We want
to thank all of our presenters that
day for the support and time given to
our students in the junior and senior
high.
Last Day of School: The last day of school here at
Ramona will be May 22, 2014. We will
dismiss on that day at 1:30 p.m. I
want to remind everyone that since
this is the time of the school year for
celebrations, like graduation and
award programs, we need to keep in
mind not to get too carried away in
the celebrating. Have fun, be with
your families, and have a safe and
restful summer. SEE EVERYONE
BACK FOR THE 2014-15 SCHOOL
YEAR!

It was fun to have Jacob Hansen visit
our class recently. He was a great pal to
play with and a great worker too!

Thank you Mike Clark and Amanda Stade for
bringing “Ag in the Classroom” to the Second
grade. They read the book Chicks and Chickens
by Gail Gibbons to us and gave us lots of good
information about chickens. We even did the
“chicken dance”. We have been opening a plastic
egg every day to learn about the development of
chicks. This program was sponsored by the
Madison Chamber of Commerce.
