RECORD SALES AT FRIENDS’ BOOK SALE

The Friends of the Library had a record breaking book sale last month with pro-

ceeds exceeding $14,100. Despite the enormous amount of work going into a

sale of this magnitude, the Friends are al-ready making plans for their next sale on Tuesday, June 28. Barb Beiling, member

of the Friends’ Executive Board, would like to thank all volunteers, patrons who

have graciously donated materials, and all the shoppers who made this sale

the most profitable in the history of the Friends of the Library. Barb said the cus-tomers “have become our friends.” “We

enjoy spending time with them,” she said. “It’s like an old-fashioned store.” Hermine

Meyer, Friends of the Library treasurer, called the amount of donations “amaz-

ing.” It is estimated that 20,000 - 25,000 items were donated for the sale. •
