Report Drill Down
• Links created in Report provide a way to launch supporting audit report to see the details not seen in the main report’s html/csv – First Implementation: link from the award number in the expense
accrual report to the award detail report. • The main report ‘expense accrual’ shows the prior expense, current expense and
unamortized for the period while the supporting report ‘award detail’ provides all the other details for that award.
Peer Group Volatility - Overview
• Private companies and those that have just gone public don’t have sufficient pricing history to properly calculate price volatility that is necessary to calculate a fair value for awards using the Black-Scholes method. In order to address this issue, FASB has provided the following guidance:
– Peer Group Volatility: “A newly public entity also might consider the expected volatility of similar entities. A nonpublic entity might base its expected volatility on the expected volatilities of entities that are similar except for having publicly traded securities.” FAS 123R para. A32
• It is not the intention of this module to help a company determine what companies should be considered peers but rather to create a mechanism to compute a weighted average volatility over a set of peer companies provided.
Peer Group Volatility - Features
• Up to 12 tickers (checks price source before allowing):
• Profile weighting (has to add up to 100%)• Look back period of up to 10 years• Any Calculation date in the last 20 years
(Can’t be in the future)• Price download file
Participant Template Enhancements
• Currently one big template for loading or updating Participant details.– Works well for new Participant, difficult for updating.– Need to fill in all mandatory fields to update even one
field in the current big template
• Solution: two new templates are being added to update Participant information. – One template will handle Participant personal/
demographic information such as name/email/address etc. (and includes the ability to add/modify Work address)
– The other template will handle Participant work-profile information such as insider/director/officer etc.
Optional PGP Encryption of Loader Files
• Additional Security Layer for EASi Importer• Transmission is always encrypted, now the
data is as well.• EASi will provide an encryption key to the
Customer • Customers can PGP encrypt their files before
sending them to their FTP folder• EASi will decrypt the files before Importing.
Misc. “Pearls”
• Reconciliation/Audit Reports• Exercise on Expiration Date• Tax item Rounding• Notification for Participant Term.
Don’t forget about…
• Security Admin Role– Allows Account Creation/Maintenance by
the Customer– Single Function Role – can be given to IT
staff w/no visibility into other data
• Section 16 Reporting tool– Automates filing w/Edgar for Forms 3 & 4– Stores common data – no re-typing– Data import from EASi Platform
