VANCOUVER ART GALLERY: Ought Apartment premieres May 14, 2009

Th e Vancouver Art Gallery has commissioned Vancouver artist Reece Terris to install a six-storey apartment tower in the rotunda of the gallery.Focusing on the evolution of domestic space in Vancouver over the last six decades, the exhibit will feature six full-scale apartments stacked on top of each other, rising through the heart of the Gallery to the fourth fl oor. Commenting on interior design and renovation as social phenomena, each fl oor of the installation will refl ect the fl oor plan of a particular decade. As the installation ascends, the fl oor plans change to represent changing social values and décor over time.Ought Apartment has been constructed, in part, with materials sourced from the Habitat for Humanity ReStores.

HELP RAISE FUNDS for Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver

A great way to support our goal of eliminating poverty housing is to become a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver. We now have a great online fundraising tool that is very easy to use (it’s actually the same system they use for Run for the Cure).More and more individuals and companies are taking advantage of this peer-to-peer fundraising idea since most people can justify donating $20, $50 or $100 which spreads out the burden but adds up very quickly! Th e website automatically generates tax receipts for donations over $20.

Here’s what you can do with your fundraising webpage:

• Share the page with friends, family and supporters • Personalize it with a video and images • Email your fundraising message and your page • Track your fundraising results

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION/RENEWAL
