Please consider donating all your unsold gently used clothing, household goods, and furniture to Sacred Heart Southern Missions’ Thrift Store in Hernando. The store is located next door to Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Commerce. Your donation can accomplish two things: eliminates putting your unsold items back into storage, and helps some of the poorest in our community. In addition to selling donated goods at very nominal prices, the Thrift Store (unlike Goodwill) also regularly provides clothing and household goods at no charge to families who have lost everything in fires, storms, floods or other tragedies. Your donations can give hope and dignity to the poor, may even be tax deductible. If you have no way to bring your donations to the Thrift Store, contact Sacred Heart Southern Missions Volunteer Coordinator’s office at 662 342-3182 prior to your sale date. We might be able to arrange to pick them up.

VATICAN STATEMENT ON DEATH OF OSAMA BIN LADEN Posted at: Monday, May 02, 2011 08:31:53 AM. Author: James Martin, S.J. Today the Vatican's spokesman, Federico Lombardi, S.J., released this statement on the death of Osama Bin Laden: "Osama bin Laden, as we all know, bore the most serious responsibility for spreading divisions and hatred among populations, causing the deaths of innumerable people, and manipulating religions for this purpose. In the face of a man’s death, a Christian never rejoices, but reflects on the serious responsibilities of each person before God and before men, and hopes and works so that every event may be the occasion for the further growth of peace and not of hatred."
