Patient Experience Results by Unit/Department May 8, 2017Here’s this week’s patient experience report. Our results are generally down from last week. Our returns for the 1st quarter are diminishing as we move deeper into the 2nd quarter. I will be emailing the department detail reports later today. The detail reports provide more information for huddle boards and staff meetings. They should give our coworkers a good understanding of our current top box percentage (TBP) and the improvement needed for our TBP to achieve the 62nd percentile. If you have any questions, please contact Steve Cul-ver, Service Excellence Director, 257-5984.

OMC offers Living and Hospice Support GroupOzarks Medical Center (OMC) has begun offering monthly meetings of the Living and Hospice Support Group. Each group meeting is designed with a dif-ferent monthly presentation of topics related to being a caregiver and the world of hospice. After a 15 minute presentation, a peer-to-peer bereavement support group is available for those interested. Light refreshments are provided.

The group meets monthly at the Willard Hunter Classroom in OMC Parkway Cen-ter, 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains.

The next meeting will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24. The top-ic is “I’m a caregiver. Now what?” The presentation will be about recognizing fatigue syndrome and strategies to avoid it. There will be additional information about OMC Support Services.

For more information or to RSVP, contact Krishana Overstreet at 417-256-3133, extension 3005.

Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day. When I am tempted to give up, help me

to keep going. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don’t go my way, and give me courage to do whatever

needs to be done. In Jesus name, Amen.

BHC Participating in Multi Agency Resource CenterOMC Behavioral Healthcare is participating in the local Multi Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) in our area, which are being coordinated with the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency.

Because many Missouri families have been impacted by devastating flooding, the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency is working with state, local, faith-based and volunteer agencies to provide one-stop shops for recovery assistance at Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) across the impacted areas of the state.

A total of 15 MARC locations have been selected across the state. In three locations the MARCs will be open for two days. MARCs provide trained workers who can identify resources for assistance with housing, public assistance, mental health counseling, or to help understand in-surance policies and the claim filing process.

SEMA partners in the MARCs include the American Red Cross, Missouri Depart-ment of Social Services, Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri Depart-ment of Insurance, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Catholic Charities, Society of St. Vincent DePaul, The Salvation Army and Convoy of Hope.

Flood survivors are also encouraged to utilize United Way 211 to connect with vital resources they may need, such as shelters, clothing, and assistance with cleaning and sanitizing homes impacted by flooding. The service is available throughout Missouri by simply dialing 2-1-1.

For information about Missouri flooding recovery and resources check Mo.gov/flood. The site is regularly updated with new information.
