The MAX-11 Slow Fire Upp er Rec eive r (SF) is designe d to p rovide a dd itiona lc ap ab ility to the SWD M-11/ 9 subm achinegun. Utilizing a bo lt weight, the rate of fireis red uc ed to a round 600 rounds per minute . This a llow s ea sy cont rollab ility of fireand the ab ility to c onsistently fire single a nd two round bursts from the a utom atic setting.

The MAX-11 SF a tta ches to the stock M-11/9 lower rec eiver withou t any mo d ifica tionto the lower rec eiver.

Installation

1 Insure firea rm is unload ed . Point in a sa fe direc tion. Rem ovema ga zine and p ull bo lt to the rea r to insure c ham be r is em pty.

2 While holding c oc king knob, pull trigg er and ea se b olt forwardinto closed position.

3 Remove front pushpin and deta ch up per rec eiver from lowerreceiver.

4 With front grip and reta ining pin remove d from MAX-11 Slow fire Upp er Rec eiver, sliderea r of up per rec eiver assem bly into rea r of lower rec eiver until rec eiver holes a lign .

5 Align front g rip with grip sides on up pe r rec eiver.

6 Slide grip bac k and insure front of g rip locks in under front sight and hole in grip sidesalign with rec eiver hole.

7 Push retaining pin throug h right side until fully sea ted .

Remova l

1 Point firea rm in a safe direc tion a nd insure it is unload ed and ma ga zine is rem oved.

2 Using a b ullet tip o r pointed o bjec t, such as a p en tip, push on left side of reta iningp in until it p rotrudes from right side .

3 Hold upp er and lowe r rec eiver toge ther with one hand and with other hand graspprotruding head of reta ining p in and pull out.

4 Slide g rip forwa rd a nd aw ay from upp er rec eiver. Do not pivot grip d ownw ard whenrem oving o r you m ay risk breaking the front of the grip.

5 Remo ve upp er rec eiver from lower rec eiver.

Operation

Cocking

Pull cocking knob to rear and release. Bolt will rem ain op en.Cocking knob will remain in rear position.

Sight Ad justment

One c lic k equals 3/4" of e leva tion or winda ge a t 50 ya rds or 1-1/2"a t 100 yards. Rota ting the front sight c loc kwise w ill ra ise the bulletimpa c t po int. Rota ting the rea r sight drum cloc kwise w ill mo ve thebullet impa c t po int to the left.

Upp er Scop e/ Optics Rail

A full length rail for mounting a scop e o r othe r aiming d evice is loca ted onthe to p o f the upper rec eiver. The p rofile of the ra il is a sta ndardMil-Std -1913 style a nd w ill ac cep t Wea ver or Mil-Std -1913 sc op e rings

or mounting systems.

Lower Accessory Rail

A ra il for atta c hing a front hand g rip, laser aiming d evice , tac tica lflashlight o r othe r device is atta c hed to the b otto m o f the fronthandgrip.

Please note , som e hand grips are not ma nufac tured to thec orrec t d imensions to mount on a Mil-Std -1913 rail. Insure the gripis c orrec t be fore atta ching. The rec om me nde d front grip is aTDI Model SVG.

Ad d itiona lly, tac tica l flashlights designed for use w ith pisto lacc essory ra ils will fit on the a cc essory ra il but w ill be a tighte r fit.

The low er ac cessory ra il ma y be removed to p rovide a slimm er grip.To remo ve, use a n 1/8" allen key to rem ove the tw o sc rew s tha tsec ure the rail to the g rip. To re-insta ll, use a d rop of Loc tite 242® on eachsc rew a nd ha nd tighten. Do not ove r tighte n the sc rew s or you ma y shea rthe th read inserts from the p olyme r grip.

Side Ac cessory Rails (optiona l)

The MAX-11 SF c an b e fitted with left and right side acc essory rails formo unting add itiona l ac cessories. The op tiona l acc essory rails c om e withlonger mounting sc rew s. They a re insta lled by rem oving the e xistingside g rip m ounting sc rew s, plac ing the rails ove r the g rip sides and insta llingthe longer mounting sc rews. When insta lling the new sc rew s, use Loc tite 242®on the threa ds and b e c a reful not to ove rtighten the sc rew s.

Sling Attac hme nt (optional)

A sling swivel ca n be atta ched to the up pe r rec eiver at e ither of the front g rip side p ane lmounting points. The rec om mended swivel is the AC E Ltd . SS-AR. To insta ll, removea sc rew from the grip side and insta ll the sling swivel kit per the manufa c turers’ instructions.

Ad d itiona lly, if the o p tiona l side a cc essory ra ils a re insta lled a sling m ount can beinsta lled d irec tly to it. The recom me nd ed ac c essory ra il sling m ount is either the ACE Ltd .SM-R or ZM We apons YHM-9485S. Insta ll per the manufa c turers’ instruc tions.

The rear of the sling c an be atta c hed to the stoc k, if it is so e quipp ed .

Attachment of Other Muzzle Devices

The b arrel is theaded 1/2-28. The fla sh suppressor is to rque d to25 foot/ po unds and sec ured with Loc tite Threa dloc ker 242 .A loc kwa sher is intentiona lly not used in order to insure the m ountingsurfac e o f the b a rrel rem ains squa re a nd burr free for op tiona l usewith a supp ressor. If you c hoo se to replace the flash suppressor withanother type o f muzzle devic e, insure it is designed for use w ith 9mmcaliber bullets.

To p revent ma rring of the finish, ap p ly ma sking tap e to the flats on the b a rrelend and the flash suppressor. To rem ove the flash suppressor, atta ch a ¾"op en end wrench to the w renc h flats on the b arrel. Attac h a sec ond ¾" op en endwrenc h to the w renc h fla ts on the flash sup pressor. While hold ing the wrenc ha ttac hed to the b arrel stationa ry, rota te the w renc h atta ched to the flash supp ressorcounter-clockwise.

Attac hme nt of a Sound Supp ressor

A sound suppressor ma y be a tta c hed to the MAX-11SF by rem ovingthe flash sup pressor. The threa ds on the MAX-11SF barrel a re1/2-28. A threa d ad ap ter c an be used to co uplesup pressors with other thread sizes or mo unting systems. Mo st comm only, a1/2-28 to 3/ 4-10 thread a dapter is req uired to use the suppressor that m atesto the stoc k SWD M-11/9. When using the supp ressor with the threadada p ter, reg ula rly tighten the supp ressor to the thread ad ap ter. It willhave a tendenc y to loosen d uring firing. This is typ ica l of the 3/4-10mo unting threa d and is not related to the de sign of the MAX-11SFupp er rec eiver.

The rec om me nded supp ier for threa d adpa ters is TROSRem ove the flash supp ressor pe r the a bo ve proc ed ure and install thethrea d ad apte r per the ma nufac turers’ instruc tions.

CA UTION: Due to the possible varianc e in the c onc entric ity and squa renessof the c om bined ba rrel, threa d ada pte r and supp ressor you will be using, it isrec om mend ed that threa d ad ap ters be installed by a qua lified gunsmith and themo unted suppressor be inspec ted for a lignme nt prior to firing . Ad d itiona lly, som esuppressor ma nufa c turers’ wa rranties expressly req uire tha t they thread the barrelfor the firea rm tha t the ir suppressor will be used on. The w arranty for the MAX-11Slowfire Upp er Rec eiver ap plies only to the upp er rec eiver assem bly a nd not anyac c essories subseq uently atta c hed by the Custom er.

Removal of Barrel

The b arrel has bee n de signed to a llow ea sy rem ova l and insta lla tion. There a re

¾" wrenc h flats a t the m uzzle end .

To p revent ma rring the finish of the upp er rec eiver use a pa dd ed vise o r hard wo od

inserts. Alternatively, app ly a c oup le of layers of ma sking ta pe to the trunnion.

Sec ure trunnion firmly in vise. Using a ¾" op en end w renc h on the w renc h fla ts a t the

muzzle e nd , turn the wrench c ounte r c loc kwise to loosen a nd rem ove ba rrel.

To re-insta ll barrel, ap p ly anti seize e ng ine a ssem bly lube to the barrel threa ds and

insert ba rrel into trunnion. Hand threa d ba rrel and tighten b y turning the w renc h

c lockwise. Use a torque wrench to tighten to 40 foot/ po unds.

Cleaning, Lubrication and Maintenanc e

Cleaning and lubricat ion should b e c arried out p er the original ma nual providedwith the SWD M-11/9 w ith the fo llow ing a dditional requirem ents:

Rec om me nded c leaning interval is a fter ea ch shoo ting session or 500 round s of use.

Rem ove the up pe r rec eiver from the low er rec eiver. Slide the bo lt assem blyfully rea rwa rd . Remove the c oc king knob from the left side o f the rec eiver.Rem ove bolt assem bly from upp er rec eiver.

Clea n upper rec eiver with solven t. The m eta l finish and polyme r g rips a re resistantto most clea ning chem ica ls includ ing Mineral Sp irits, Ac eto ne a nd MEK. Inspec t all

mo unting sc rew s for tigh tness.

Clean b arrel using your preferred me thod .

Lightly co a t all surfac es w ith gun oil. Wipe awa y any excess oil.

Clean the b olt assem bly in solvent. Brush the b olt fac e a nd b rea c h area w ith anylon or b rass b rush to remo ve a ny built-up c arbon d ep osits. Insure the b olt fac e isc lean and free of deb ris.

Using a finge rtip, ap ply a thin coa t of gun oil to the b olt surfac es. Wipe awa y anyexce ss oil. Add a drop o f gun oil to the recoil sp ring w here it mee ts the back of thebolt. Inspec t the sea r eng age me nt surfac e for round ing or burrs. Sma ll burrs ma ybe rem oved with a file. If the surfac e is wo rn and preventing the sea r from reliablyeng ag ing, disc ontinue use and ha ve it rep a ired imm ed iately.

Insert the b olt assem b ly into the upper rec eiver. Slide b olt assem bly forwa rd un tilhole in bolt assem bly lines up with rear of slot in upp er rec eiver. Insta ll c oc king kno band push bolt assem bly forwa rd . Re-install upp er rec eiver and front ha nd grip tolower receiver.
