6. All items, excluding fresh food, should be checked out Sunday, August 23, 2015 between 2:00 – 5:00pm.

7. Bring all fresh, cooked food items on paper plates, wrapped in clear plastic, or on a paper plate in sealable clear bag.

8. No commercial mixes are allowed in baked entries.

9. Premium winning food entries will remain on display through August 22, 2015.

10. All small garden entries should be brought on paper plates.

All articles for exhibition in this department must be strictly handmade and the work of the

exhibitor. No soiled articles will be accepted for exhibit. Only one entry may be made in a

lot per person, and all entries must have been completed since last year’s fair. A youth may

enter an adult category only if there is not a comparable category in the youth division.

When there is no competition or entries are not up to standard, judge will place awards

according to merit. No premiums are awarded unless the judge considers them worth.

Entries must be left in the Fair for the entire time. All participants must leave the building

while items are being judged. Efforts will be made to see to it that all rules are followed.

Entries are open to all Maury County residents and surrounding counties. Entries must be entered Monday, August 17, 2015 from Noon – 6:00pm in all division.

Entries may ONLY be picked up on Sunday, August 23, 2015 between 2:00 pm – 5:00pm. Please do not remove items before this time! Tickets are checked upon item pick-up.

preserves must be in standard half-pint, pint or jelly jars. Bands must be left on jars. EACH

EXHIBIT MUST HAVE NAME OF PRODUCE AND NAME OF EXHIBITOR ON BOTTOM OF JAR.

Unsealed jars will not be accepted. Canned goods may be opened to be judged.

I. GENERAL:

A. All stalls, pens, chutes, etc. located on the grounds of fairs and exhibitions shall be

thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with a disinfectant approved by USDA, APHIS between

each scheduled fair or exhibition.

B. All livestock (except poultry) which enter fairs and exhibitions shall be accompanied by an official veterinary health certificate with individual permanent identification or sufficient description to identify each animal. Certificates for this purpose shall be valid for ninety (90) days from date of issue. (Tennessee livestock only – out-of-state certificates are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue).

C. No animal showing clinical signs of infectious or communicable disease shall be allowed to enter or remain on premises of fairs or exhibitions. It shall be the responsibility of the manager of each event to assure prompt removal of such animals.

II. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and additional requirements as follows:

A. CATTLE: (1) Tuberculosis: No requirements except from states having a tuberculosis culture

positive in the last 12 months. (2) Brucellosis: Test eligible cattle - Intact male or female cattle eighteen (18)

months or older. (Vaccinates and non-vaccinates) Certified Herds - No test requirements.

Class Free States - No test requirements.

Class A - Negative test within 30 days

B. GOATS: 1) Goats imported into or through Tennessee shall be accompanied by an official

health certificate and be in compliance with 0080-2-1-.02, and Title 9, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 79.1 through 79.4.

(2) Goats imported into Tennessee for immediate slaughter to an approved slaughter establishment or to an approved livestock market for sale to a slaughter establishment shall only be required to have a transportation document and be in compliance with Title 9, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 79.1 through 79.4.

(3) All registered breeding goats, goats that have been commingled with sheep, goats for exhibition and dairy goats that move within the state, including for change of ownership, shows, fairs, expositions or slaughter shall be permanently, individually identified by a method approved in Title 9, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 79.1 through 79.4.

1. Youth members may show in the Junior Youth Show who were enrolled in 4th grade

through 12th grade as of January 1st of the current year in order to be eligible to exhibit

their dairy or beef animals in the Youth Dairy or Beef Show. Exhibitors must be able to show their animal by themselves. To receive Youth monies, animal must be shown by

member whose name the animal is registered.

2. All beef and dairy cattle should be pre-registered by entry form deadline. Registration fee will double when late. Youth members exhibiting in open show must pay entry fee on each

animal shown. All entries must be recorded in show book by 5:00 pm day of show. No

entries will be taken after books close.

3. Animals must be owned by exhibitors and evidence of registration presented. Youth

animals must be registered in name of exhibitors.

4. There must be 10 or more head of any breed to have a breed show.

5. All entries must be on the grounds by 3:00 pm the day they are to be shown. Animals will

be released at the conclusion of the show.

6. Feed and equipment must be furnished by exhibitors.

7. Absolutely no straw allowed.

8. All animals must be exhibited by competent handler. Youth exhibits must be exhibited by

the registered owners. No ring assistance unless approved by judge or superintendent.

9. Any concerns in regard to the show rules need to be addressed to the superintendent prior to the show.

10. Commercial Heifers cannot be registered animals.

11. Commercial Heifers exhibitors must be youth as defined above.

1. Entries must be from 4-H’ers current year’s poultry project.

2. An entry will be six (6) pullets per exhibitor in grades -12. An entry will be three (3) pullets per exhibitor in the 4th grade. Grade determined at beginning of project.

3. One show will be held for both black sex-linked and red sex-linked pullets. Each show, both red and black, will have an Explorer (4th grade) and a 5-12 grade division.

4. Red sex-linked exhibitors must register their pullets between 9:00 am – 10:00 am. The black sex-linked show will begin at 10:00am with the sale starting immediately after show.

5. Black sex-linked exhibitors must register their pullets between 11:00 am – 11:30 am. The show will begin at 11:30 am with the sales starting immediately after show.

6. Premiums are as follows:

Black-Sex Linked B+ $10.00

or B- $ 7.00

Red-Sex Linked R $ 5.00

Grand and Reserve Grand Champions in each division must sell their pullets, Ribbons, Premiums and other awards will be provided to these winners.

JUNIOR MEAT GOAT SHOW RULES:

1. Any breed or crossbreed may show. There is a minimum weight of 30 lbs.

2. There will be three (3) divisions of goats shown: “Market Goat for Slaughter” –

“Replacement Doe Kids” – “Replacement Doe Yearlings”

3. Wether kids must not exhibit any testicular tissue. Animals having this will be dismissed.

No bucks or billies will be allowed on the grounds.

4. Wether kids and doe kids must have all milk teeth at weigh-in. Kid goats that have lost

either or both will be dismissed or moved to the yearling doe class.

5. Yearling does are allowed to have up to two sets of yearling teeth at weigh-in.

6. All goats must have horns tipped or padded.

7. No billies or bucks will be allowed in the barn area.

8. Competition is limited to Junior Exhibitors.

9. Exhibitors must have been enrolled in the 4th – 12th grade on January 1 of the current year

in order to be eligible to exhibit their goats, and will become ineligible at the end of the

calendar year following their graduation from high school or upon their 20th birthday,

whichever comes first.

10. All goats must be identified by ear ta or tattoo, no collar tags will be accepted.

11. All goats must be shown with a collar.

12. All goats will be weighed and classes divided by weight in each of the three division of the

show.

13. A champion will be selected of each division and the champions will be exhibited together

for a Supreme Champion.

14. Any item that comes up at the show not covered by these rules will be decided by the

Executive Committee of this show and their decision will be final.

15. Each exhibitor is limited to five (5) animals for the show.

16. Each exhibitor must supply their own bedding (NO STRAW), water pails and feed pans.

17. No Dogs allowed.

18. Health papers are required at this show as well as all regional/state and fair shows. Goats

must have Scrapie Tags. Heath Registration papers and Ear Tags will be checked! If you

need Scrapie Tags, please contact the TN State Vets Office at (615) 781-5301.

19. Goats will follow state 4-H show rules.

20. We will have pee wee classes for showmanship in each species, but there will be no

monetary payouts, just a ribbon for participants.

21. Tie Space and Pens will be first-come, first-serve. Please be courteous to your neighbor.

Exhibitors may begin to arrive starting at 2:00pm on show day.

22. All animals must be washed in the designated wash rack area only.

23. Any changes to these rules and regulations will be at the discretion of show management.
