Using organic, fresh ingredients she home-cooks vegetarian, GMO-free nutrient dense foods with purpose - foods that can create a feeling of happiness, open energy centers in our bodies, or have a calming effect. Fermented foods round out her repertoire. A proponent of farm-to-table practices, she carefully selects much of her ingredients from Southern California farmers markets, focusing on seasonal, locally grown foods. Her philosophy? “We are what we eat so the ingredients we use, along with our state of mind in the act of preparation, creates the reflection of wholesome health inside and out.” Offerings and fees:

• Weekly menus via email signup Personal History Maureen’s ancestry includes parents from Louisiana, a place of inspiration for spicy foods, eclectic tastes and colorful music and art. Her mother who was a registered nurse exposed her early on to the medical and healing profession. Maureen also spent several years working in the medical field during which time she starting exploring the mind body connection. Her training includes textile and graphic design, intuitive movement and visual arts. A practicing artist and dancer, her exploration of freeform movement and ecstatic dance led her to the world of energy medicine and Reiki. Maureen became a practitioner of the Tummo school of Reiki. Cooking became an extension of her commitment to healing. In 2009, she became Chef Mo and started cooking for clients in their home, teaching classes, and began offering her weekly menu service in 2012. A resident of a Woodland Hills, she shares her mini-farm complete with laying hens and organic gardens with her gardener and artist husband, Thomas.
