Rockford, Illinois, is a mid-sized city located on both banks of the Rock River in far northern Illinois. It is approximately 90 miles northwest of Chicago, 90 miles east of the Mississippi River and 66 miles south of Madison, WI. Rockford is the county seat of Winnebago County, and part of an MSA with nearly 350,000 residents.
