My work has been varied and challenging, from my years with the British Army through to my current position as a team leader with Costain engineering. Currently looking for a career in Environmental work in West Wales with the chance to apply my years of technical skill and experience. EMPLOYMENT Costain Engineering and Construction July 2012 – Present Team leader-http://www.clh.es/section.cfm?id=1&side=206&lang=en I currently work as a team leader to complete projects to set standards and meet deadlines. My work for Costain involves providing support to a number of their clients including CLH, OPA, SIRA and others. My role is focused on improving and maintaining fuel pipelines and storage systems. It requires me to be mobile and plan movements ahead, to ensure work is completed on time and by the most efficient means. During my time at Costain I have been employed as a Surveyor, data controller and AutoCAD draughtsman. Programs I have used include Quantum GIS, AutoCAD, GVSig, TrueView, DraftSight, MapInfo and the Trimble Nomad Datalogger. Welsh Assembly Government /Mapping Update Project Feb 2010 – Mar 2011 http://wales.gov.uk/topics/environmentcountryside/farmingandcountryside/farming/ mappingupdateproject/ Employed as a mapping digitizer for the Welsh Assembly Government, part of the Mapping Update team from the start to the end of the project. I thrived in the work and proved my commitment to the project with the hours and work rate I produced. The majority of work was extracting information and checking historic data to a new standard, correcting any errors found. This required a working knowledge of the Glastir rules and Rural payments. o Qualified GIS Technician – Royal School of Military Survey (RSMS). o Satellite and Terrestrial survey trained in extensive RSMS course.o Credits towards a Foundation Computer Science Degree–Sheffield Hallam.o Microsoft word/excel/access courses, including report writing.o Photoshop tools and applications and HTML course.

I am a fully trained Soldier, Engineer, Geographic Technician and All Arms Commando from my time in the military. I acquired many skills and completed many trips abroad proving my ability, this culminated in my promotion to Lance Corporal after only 3 years. I completed a year long course in the RSMS in 2006, and a further 3 month skill refresher in 2009. I used a wide range of my Geographic skills in many environments and pressures, concentrating on ArcMap and other ESRI programs for the majority of my GIS work. As a surveyor I used Leica levels, Trimble Theodolites and other Military GPS equipment.

Full-time farm assistant when available/required, including 3 full seasons lambing.Most work with sheep and cattle. This included using tractors, quads, trailers and lorry movement. Also fencing, felling and general civil works.

Maxwell Dairy Farms, New Zealand Nov 2011 – Mar 2012Working as a Farm hand, milked twice daily along with a wide range of general farm jobs to do throughout the day. After a short time I was milking alone and running the farm when required. Tractor, 2 wheeler and quad work. 13 hr days, 8on/2off Rota.
