PARTICIPANT PRE-REGISTRATIONWe will be using chip timing again this year for all Race Runners and Race Walkers! Pre-registration for Matt’s 5K Pursuit is $27 for Race Runners and Race Walkers and $25 for Matt’s 5K Pursuit Fun Walk (not chip-timed). Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run (for kids ages 10 and under) is $5. All pre-registered participants will receive an event T-shirt. You can pick up your shirt and race bib on race day before 8:30 AM or check our website for additional pick up options. After the pre-registration deadline, participants can still register from March 31 through April 11 online and on race day, but a late fee of $5 will be added. Late registration will include a T-shirt while supplies last.

OUR MISSIONThe Matt Haverkamp Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2005 to raise money to benefit the causes that were important to Matt. His career as a police officer was dedicated to the Golf Manor Police Department, where he developed the department’s first K9 Unit and served his community with his K9 partner, Tibo. The Matt Haverkamp Foundation’s mission is to assist local police departments by providing funding for the purchase of dogs for their K9 Units.

The Foundation is proud to have purchased 53 K9s for local police departments as of the end of 2017. Most recently we assisted the City of Cincinnati (6 K9s), Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (3 K9s), Oxford, Cheviot, Green Township, Colerain, Forest Park, and Golf Manor. (Visit our website to see the K9s!) So far this year, we have received requests from three departments and plan to meet all of their needs and more!

One of the Foundation’s biggest fundraisers is the Annual Matt’s 5K Pursuit, which is a 3.1 mile run/walk through Spring Grove Cemetery. We extend the event throughout the morning and have K9 demonstrations, refreshments, door prizes, and the presentation of awards to the top race finishers. Your participation in this year’s race would be greatly appreciated and we hope that you can join us in future years as we gather together to celebrate Matt’s life, keep his memory alive, and fulfill our mission.
