Watch an Alphablocks clip each day. Communication , Language and Literacy Listen to the Story of Cinderella on Cbeebies. Talk about your favourite fairytales and fairytale characters together. Expressive Arts and Design Design a new pair of shoes for Cinderella. Think about what materials you would use and explain why. Perhaps tin foil to make them shiny, glitter to make them look magical or even bubble wrap to make them comfy. You could also create a crown fit for a fairytale king or queen. Knowledge and Understanding What would it be like to live in a castle? Design and make your own fairytale castle you would like to live in. Discuss how would it be different to your house. Physical Cast magical spells just like the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. Use a bubble wand to cast your spells making swirling and twirling movements. Click the link for how to make bubble mixture at home. Personal, Social and emotional We are all special just like the creatures and characters in fairytale stories. Ask your child to think about what makes them special. What makes them different to other people? Using an old shoe box, make a ‘Special About Me’ box. Your child could draw pictures or collect items from around the house that show their personality such as a paintbrush, a storybook or a pair of dance shoes or draw pictures to. Talk about the importance of being unique together . Help you mummy or daddy with with the cleaning this week just like me!

Daily mathsListen to the following

number song (Three Blind Mice).

Daily mathsListen to the following

number song (1,2,3,4,5).

Daily mathsUse a squishy bag (made from re-sealable zipper

storage bags) to draw some numbers up to 5.

Daily mathsChalk or stick some numbers (0-5) on the floor. Ask your child to move to a number

and draw it in the air using a bubble wand. Say each

number together.

Daily mathsWrite numbers (0-5) on plain paper each decorated with as

many dots as the number. Ask your child to touch each dot with a paint brush, dot

marker or felt tip and see the number and the quantity all

together!

Problem of the dayDraw a picture of each of the

three mice with: a piece of cheese each, a walking stick

and pair of sunglasses. Count how many cheeses you have, sunglasses and waking

sticks.

Problem of the dayPlay the counting game.

Problem of the dayCan you draw the number to show how old you are? You

could use paint, chalk or even a sand tray.

Problem of the dayGo on a number hunt - Ask your child to spot numbers

around you house.

Problem of the dayWrite the numbers out again

without the dots. Ask your child to draw the right

number of dots for each number with your help.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday FridayPre-writing skills – these are the lines and strokes kids need to master and know before learning how to print letters..Phonics – this is where children learn to read by sounding out letters, designed to give them the skills to read fluently and confidently. In Nursery, your child has begun phonics in school, focusing on speaking and listening skills linked to the sounds around them. They will begin learning individual letter sounds in Reception.

Pre-writing skills: Practice clipping clothes

up paper).

Pre-writing skills: Create a peg dinosaur. Ask and adult to draw and cut

out your dinosaur.

Draw a picture or write a letter to the fairy

godmother to tell her what you would wish for.

Phonics (Alliteration):Find a selection of

household objects. Name each first to make sure your child knows the word. Say

them together with emphasis on the initial

sound. Play eye spy using these objects.

Phonics (Alliteration):Treasure hunt – ask your

child to find objects starting with an initial sound. E.g.

find me something starting with the ‘s’ sound (spoon).

Play the followingGame

Phonics (Alliteration):Tell your child to watch

your mouth carefully and cover their ears. Ask them

to say what sound you were mouthing to them. Exaggerate your mouth

movements.

Phonics (Alliteration):Sit facing a mirror. Play

making faces and copying movements of the lips and tongue. Make some letter

sounds together.
