There are many types of degrees available. A Bachelor’s is available in Industrial, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Master’s are available in Data Analytics, Mathematical Probability and Statistics, and Education with an emphasis in Mathematics Instruction

Mathematicians are responsible for many different duties, among them are:Expanding knowledge in mathematical areas, Using formulas to prove or disprove theories, and apply those theories to solve practical problems in business, engineering, and science, as well as many other fields. They also develop mathematical or statistical models to analyze data, interpret data and report on the conclusions from their analyses, use the data analysis to support and improve business decisions. In addition, to maintain their knowledge, they read journals, confer with other mathematicians, and attend conferences.

Work Environment:Mathematicians may work on teams with engineers, scientists, and other professionals. Mathematicians held about 3,500 jobs in 2012. Most Mathematicians work for the Federal Government (about 30%) or for private scientific and engineering research and development companies (about 20%).
