Classrooms of Today
November 7, 2018
Time to Celebrate! When using provincial test results as a measure of success, we can celebrate:
- Our Grade 3 results are the highest in the province (76%);- We are tied for 2nd in Grade 6 (61%) These data are an
increase of 14% over the last 5 years.
Then and Now
Then: Radial Keratotomy
In RK, incisions are made with a diamond knife. Incisions that penetrate only the superficial corneal stroma are less effective than those reaching deep into the cornea,[2] and consequently, incisions are made quite deep.
Now: LASIK Surgery
In general, a special type of cutting laser is used to precisely change the shape of your cornea.

What does a math ‘period’ look like?
Let’s do some math!
Key Take-aways
1) We work to develop a constructive mindset towards mathematics and have high expectations of all learners.
2) Our classrooms are filled with purposeful math dialogue.3) We encourage the use of manipulatives to help students work through a
researched learning progression (concrete>pictorial>symbolic).4) We teach through problem solving to support understanding of procedures.
