Students: Their

Accessories, Groups

and Facilities

Vincent Villa

You’re a student right?

Are you a girl or a boy?

Which uniform do you

use? Yes each student,

depending on a few

factors has their own

accessories or uniforms.

Some have the same

accessories though since

some accessories are for

both genders.

A many – to – one relation

would be a classroom and

students. Students are

assigned to a classroom

in school therefore giving

them a many – to - one

relationship with their

classroom since a lot of

students are sharing one

classroom and they have

the obligation to take

care of it.

In a classroom there are

at least 24 students with

1 adviser creating a many

– to – one relationship.

In a classroom they are

provided with a chair per

student. Thus creating a

one is to one relationship

with the students and

their respective seats.

Students met their

teachers on the first

week of school. They

were all having fun and

were given a few

requirements per subject.

Each subject had a

different teacher.

All the teachers were fun

and enthusiastic in

teaching their respective

subjects, because of them

handling one subject

each it has created

another one is to one

relationship.

In one period there

would be one teacher

teaching a lot of students

making a one is to many

relationship.

During school days from

Monday to Thursday high

school students were

required to wear the

complete school uniform.

We would be given a

disciplinary measure if

we wouldn’t wear the

complete uniform. We

wouldn’t want that

would we?

The boys wear a polo

barong and navy blue

slacks while girls wear a

blouse and navy blue

skirt with black knee

socks. This creates a one

– to – one relationship

with all students wearing

the same uniform

according to gender.

During Fridays all high

school students wear the

same uniform, jogging

pants, a maroon shirt and

white shoes. A one is to

many is to one

relationship.

During the day we are

given two breaks, recess

and lunch. Usually during

lunch people go to the

canteen to purchase food.

This creates a one – to –

many relationship, we

students in high school

are a lot, but we only

have one canteen.

Page 6: MATH TRENDS IN HIGH SCHOOL

After buying food I can

see students sitting with

their respective group of

friends in their tables.

One table for many

students, what relation

do you think this is? I

believe this is another

one – to – many

relationship.

After eating lunch we all

go back to our

classrooms. Most of the

high school students pray

the rosary inside their

classrooms.

Even though most pray,

our class doesn’t. That

doesn’t mean we aren’t

catholic, we just have our

own ways to worship the

Lord.

Some students have

lockers so sometimes it’s

a many – to – one

relationship since some

students share one

locker, some of them is a

one is to one relationship

because they don’t share

their lockers.

The comfort rooms are a

one is to one relationship

due to the gendering,

each gender has their

own comfort room.

At the end of lunch break

we would all return to

classes. We listen to our

teachers well and even

though it’s hard we do

our best. As a fourth year

student lessons are

harder. There is more

pressure.

We try to deal with this

pressure and we give

everything our all! After

the last subject we clean

our classroom, pick up

the trash and dispose of

them properly.

Each student has a

different way of going

home. Some are picked

up by their cars, some

ride the carpool and

some students like me

ride the bus.

The bus is another one –

to – many relationship

because many students

ride in one bus but the

seats have a one is to one

relationship with the

students, one seat, one

student.

After getting off the bus

we are picked up by our

parents and that ends our

school journey for the

day.

Even though things are

hard on this day that

doesn’t mean it will be

hard the next day. I

believe that there is

always a better

tomorrow.

One – is – to – one Love Relationships

Vanessa Mae Olandag

Love? Does that need loyal and faithful partners? Is it a one- to – one

relationship or some other partners tends to cheat and it becomes a one – is –

to – many relationship?

In High school, I guess it’s common to students to have relationships. Each of

us may have love stories to tell – be it good or bad. That is indeed, true since it

is love that makes them feel secured and happy.

As in the case of someone I know, she said that if she were to choose from love

and trust she would choose – TRUST. Why trust? She answered, “Because you

cannot always trust the one you love but you can always love the one you trust.”

She had a colorful love story that would surely send giggles to love fanatics.

Many times she shares to me her story and most often, those who hear it

would say how majestic and predictable love is.

While she was a second year high school student, she met this guy; their

relationship went smoothly until the guy courted her on their third year in

high school because of his persistence that every time he visits her classroom

and helps her in bringing her stuff to her locker.

The guy was a working student, and because of that they could hardly have

time for each other. But their relationship was strong that it was like math, a

one – to – one relationship, only the both of them together.

It was summer the guy needed to go to Manila for his work. They could hardly

have time to talk due to busy schedules. Their only way of communicating was

through Facebook and text messages.

Page 8: MATH TRENDS IN HIGH SCHOOL

One day, she notices the guy who keeps talking about another girl. It’s like

every time they talk the other girl’s name is always brought up. And one more

thing his best friend told her things that really hurt her. So they broke up.

It really did hurt her so much. It was like her heart was crushed and was

broken into pieces. From one – is – to – one relationship to one – is – to – many

relationships. This can’t be, because in a relationship it should be only a one –

is – to – one relationship.

They both went through depressions .A few weeks after, school started. She

honestly said there were times that there were awkward moments. But as

time goes by, they started to talk again – as friends. He slowly moved on and

became happy again with the help of his friends. All of his friends were there

for him. It was a many – is – to – one relationship when you’re with friends

because they all love you. He was not alone.

She’s happy for him that he had friends beside him. While she was alone and

the only person she could count on, on that time was her own self. A one – is –

to – one relationship, but she doesn’t care as long as everyone is happy and

he’s happy. She is now smiling, happiness might not be the reason but she’s

smiling because she’s strong.

She is now a graduating student and she is focusing more on her studies.

It is, indeed, “when it comes to relationships, remaining faithful is never an

option but a priority. Loyalty is everything” – unknown author.

Food trip

AljenCallera

I eat food, you eat food. Who doesn't? We

all eat -- anytime, anywhere. There are

times where you eat different types of

food depending on how they feel or

depending on how the weather is.

For example, in our school canteen, when

it's a cold weather we eat hot or warm

food like soup, noodles and drink hot

chocolate or warm coffee. When the

weather is hot or warm we eat food like

ice cream and drink cold drinks to cool off

a bit like soft drinks, shakes, smoothies

and slushes.

I myself is a food junky. I have tried all

sorts of food. I eat different food that

makes it a one is to many relationship.

From food in restaurants, to our school

canteen, to fast food joints to street food.

I've tried food from different countries

but there is nothing like Filipino food. One

of the reasons why I'm proud to be a

Filipino is because of our food.

The world knows how we Filipino's are

when it comes to food. You can never

have enough.

What kind of relationship do you think we

have with food? Do you share your food? I

do! When we share our food it becomes a

many is to one relationship with my bag of

chips. Sometimes it’s only a one is to one

relationship because I don’t share.

When we eat we taste a bit of heaven. The

food we eat is so delicious that we

literally can’t live without it.

When you eat do you use a spoon and

fork? What kind of relationship do you

have with them? I have a one is to one

relationship with my spoon and fork

because each person has a single pair

when they eat.

Did you know that our school canteen is a

many is to onerelationship? Many people

work and eat in the canteen making it a

many is to one relationship.

How about street food vendors and their

carts? I think they have a one is to one

relationship, but that doesn’t make it a one

is to one relationship with the customers

since a lot of people still buy it is a many is

to one relationship.

The relationship with the nutrients from

the food and our body is also a many is to

one relationship because the nutrients

goes to different parts of the body.

n my different adventures of food I’ve

tasted different cuisines and I have seen

different relationships with food as well.

I’d like to explore more and taste more.

The Legendary

Playmaker

Yuki Uruma

In a school we have

athletes with their

different sports. Are

you one of them? I for

one is an athlete, as in

a soccer player. I have

a one is to one relationship with my

sport.

Soccer needs a soccer ball, soccer

field, referee , goals and players. What

kind of a relationship does a soccer

ball have with the players? I believe

that it is a many is to one relationship

because they are all using one ball.

The players and the soccer field is

a many is to one relationship as well

because the players are just using one

field and then there are eleven players

in the field.

Based on my experience, I and my

teammates are using the ball to kick it

in to the goal to score. The only one is

stopping me from the opponent team

is the goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper has a one is to one

relationship with the goal because in

each team we have one goalkeeper

guarding one goal each. When I kicked

the ball the goal keeper failed to stop

my shot and we scored.

Even though I am a soccer player

there are other sports as well. I have a

few friends some of

them are in different

sports.

One example

would be Maisey, she’s

a Palarong Pambansa

player for swimming. I

decided to ask her a few things

regarding swimming.

When I asked her about

swimming she said “Swimming was

where I met my best friends, my

brothers and sisters and because of

swimming I learned to appreciate the

pain.” She told me that was her favorite

quote to keep her going.

In swimming Maisey encounters

a many is to one relationship with the

pool and coach as well. They only have

one swimming pool and one coach for

all of them. She says that it’s fun

training with friends and coach.

She experiences a one is to one

relationship with her swimming gear

like her swimsuit and her goggles. She

hates losing her stuff because not only

are they expensive but they have also

helped her in the competitions she’d

won in.

In sports we encounter math

relations we just don’t see it. Math is

everywhere around us.

Roy’s Studies

Jericho Amiel P. Lafuente

One hot summer night, Roy is studying

for an exam in Calculus tomorrow. He has a

hard time knowing how Domains and Ranges

work. So he opened a group chat with his best

friends Gerald and Katherine.

Gerald is the Math Genius and

Katherine knows a lot of Math as well. Gerald

has a crush on Katherine.

He asked them “How can I know about

Domains and Ranges if they are so hard to

understand?” Katherine answered “it’s easy.

Domains are all values in the X – axis while

Ranges are all the values in Y – axis. See it’s

easy.”

“Uhmm, that’s too hard for me to understand”

“Well I have an idea”, Gerald said.

“What?” Both Roy and Katherine said.

“We can use Roy and his studies as an

example”, Gerald said.

“How?”

“Well, what if Roy’s time is the Domain and

Roy’s subject is the Range?”

“Can you please show it to us?” Katherine said.

“In a moment”

Later he showed them a table.

Roy’s Studies

Time Subjects

6:00 Math Elective

7:00 Science

8:00 Filipino

9:00 English

10:00 Math

“See the Domain is the time and the Range

is the subject. You can change your subject to

another time but not vice versa.”

“Now I understand!” Roy exclaimed.

“Wow, you’re a genius! Really a Genius”

Katherine said.

Gerald blushed at that statement because

he liked Katherine but he decided to play it

cool.

“Well, see you tomorrow guys. We Will Pass!”

Gerald said.

“Yes We Will! Bye!” Roy and Katherine said.

After turning off his computer, Gerald

thought with a blush, “I hope that impressed

Kath. Maybe she will like me for that! Oh

Gerald, you’re truly a genius!” Gerald went

back to his study with love in his cheeks and a

great hope for tomorrow.
