Numbers

Chocolate Chip Cookie Game

You need: 1-10 dot counting cards , 4 brown colored paper plates (cookies) and 20 black quarter sized circles (chocolate chips)

How to Play: First give each child a “cookie” and place the “Chocolate Chips’ at the center of the table. Mix the dot counting cards up and place the face down on the table next to the “chips”. The first child then takes a card, counts the dots, and places that amount of “chips” on their cookies. The other children than count the amount of “chips” on the cookie to determine if player one got it right. Have the kids all take turns until all the dot counting cards have been done.

How to play: Lay the circles on the table and ask the children which one they think will make a bigger circle. Then show them that when you put the same parts together that they will equal the whole.

All of the activities that are in my slide show are some of the activities I do in my class. All

of my supplies that I used, are supplies majority of child care centers have on hand. I spent no money on them and very little time making what I needed. They are very easy to

make and also can help as a transition activity during the day because they are easy

to pick up .
