If yours is just a few inches longer than that, just go ahead and follow the pattern. If it is quite a bit longer, you will want to trim it down.
Step 1: Lay out 1 yard of nylon net with the center fold at the top, the raw edge at the bottom. Step 2: Fold the nylon net in half by bring the raw edge up to the center fold. Step 3: Fold the nylon net in half again by bringing the bottom up to the center fold.

Step 4: Fold the nylon net in half one last time by bringing the bottom up to the center fold. If your narrow edge looks as jagged as mine, then . . . Step 5: use a rotary cutter or scissors, to cut a little off the edge to make it nice and straight. Doesn’t that look so much neater! Step 6: Measure 1 ¾” away from the edge of the netting. Cut with your rotary cutter, or use your scissors.

Step 7: If you want to make a solid color scrubbie, cut 5 more strips, all 1 ¾” wide (6 total strips). If you want to make a swirl style scrubbie, just cut 2 more of this color, and then grab the next color of netting and repeat steps 1 thru 7. Either way, you need a total of 6 strips of nylon net, 1 ¾” wide. For this example, I am using two different colors. Step 8: Put the ends of two different strips together and . . . Step 9: knot them. Repeat, tying all 6 strips together, end to end (alternating colors if you are doing a swirl scrubbie) to create one long piece of nylon net.

This photo may look like a mess, but I promise the strips are all tied together into one long piece. There should be 5 knots total. Step 10: At the beginning of your long piece of netting, attach the strip to your K sized hook with a slipknot. Step 11: Chain 4. Step 12: Slip stitch in the first chain to form a loop.

Step 13: Working in the back loops only now and throughout, do two single crochets in the first chain after the knot.
Step 14: Continue working around and around in a circle, making two single crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Step 15: Continue making two single crochets through the second strip in your long piece of nylon net. Keep the knots on the under side of your scrubbie. Step 16: Once you reach the third strip in your long piece of nylon net, begin only making one single crochet in the back loop of each stitch. Continue this until you reach the very last strip.

Back view at this point. Notice all the knots are in the back with the strip ends poking out. As you crochet, encourage the scrubbie to take its shape. It should start to form a bowl-‐shape. Step 17: Now I’ve reached the last strip in my long piece of nylon net. Make one single crochet in each of the next three stitches, then . . . Step 18: Skip a stitch, then single crochet in the next stitch.

Step 19: Single crochet in every other stitch, continuing around to close up the back side of the scrubbie. Scrubbie is closed up, ready to finish off. Step 20: To finish, pull the last loop on your hook all the way through to create a knot. Step 21: Shove the remaining piece of your nylon net into the center hole.

Finished size should be approximately 3” diameter and 1 ¼” thick. Wasn’t that fun?? Now, grab some other colors and make some more!!
