HOMER HAPPY: The Dodgers recorded four home runs in yesterday’s contest, which included Dodger rookie Cody Bellinger blasting his team-leading 19 th home run of the season with a two-run shot in the third inning. Bellinger is currently tied for third in the Majors in longballs, while trailing only the Yankees’ Aaron Judge (23) and the Brewers’ Eric Thames (20) for the league lead. His club- leading 43 RBI are also tied for 16 th in the National League. Bellinger becomes just the second player in Major League history to hit 19 homers in his first 49 career big league games, joining New York Yankees’ backstop Gary Sanchez (2015-16). Not to go unnoticed, Dodger outfielders Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson also went deep in yesterday’s contest. Puig slugged two home runs with solo shots in the sixth and eighth innings, as he recorded his third career multi-homer game (last: April 6 vs. San Diego). Pederson hit a home run in his second straight game, crushing a solo homer in the third inning for his fourth longball of the year. Bellinger and Pederson recorded the teams fourth back-to- back home runs this season in the third inning yesterday, which is tied for seventh most in the Majors. MAEKEN MADNESS: Dodger right-hander Kenta Maeda will look to rebound, as he will make a spot start today for his 11 th start of the season.
