MATATU are basically vans used for public transport in

Kenya.

These are privately owned vans but are regulated and

have a fixed route, run from termini and are used

for both inter and intra-city travel.

There was no accounting

maintained for the tickets collected.

Needed a system to track the Matatus

swipe at the machines installed

in each Matatu

GPS devices fitted within Matatu’s to track their routes
