Applications for Farm Use Assessment are now available in the Assessment Division of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough in Palmer.
Applications for Farm Use Assessment must be filed each year to qualify for tax deferral. The deadline for filing the application is on or before May 15, 2012.
The Assessment Division will be glad to answer any questions regarding the applications, including filing, subject to income verification.

HORSESHOE LAKE ROAD UPGRADE OPEN HOUSEMarch 27, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm
129000 W. Creek Frontage Road (Mile 2.0 Big Lake Road)
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Public Works Department, and R&M Consultants invite you to come and see what is happening with the Horseshoe Lake Road project. The objective of this project is to address reoccurring operations, maintenance, and safety issues identified along the existing road alignment. Improvements have been identified for the existing road alignment that include widening the existing road, realigning the road to minimize property impacts, and adding roadside drainage ditches and culverts.

The Hatcher Pass Recreational Area Access project will begin soon. Timber that is cleared from the site will be made available to the public for removal at no cost.
