incomplete, because most books, seminars, and stud

meaning when you can place it in the context of
a powerful whole. Further, chis knowledge also translates
into increasingly focused, skillful action and attain-
ment in life.
If you’re completely new
to this area of study, you’llfind that this comprehen-
sive approach makes your
learning easy. As you progress step-by-step
through the Rosicrucian eourse of study, you’ll see how
each subject relates to all the rest, giving you a sense of
completeness and confidence in your understanding.
Through simple weekly lessons that you study at
home, you’ll have the opportunity to learn useful tech-
niques which you can use on a daily basis to awaken your higher faculties, leading to improved health, hetter life
situations, more harmonious personal relationships, and
an increased sense of happiness and peace. These goals can
be achieved through a process which Rosicrucian studentsaill self-mastery.
What exactly does self-mastery mean? It means
learning howr to chart your own course through life.
How to ftnd the means to make the right choices
and decisions. It means seeing your present circum-stances as unlimited opportunities for growth,
because yoti do have the ability to change your situa-
tion. It means being able to take charge of you r life
and help those around you to achieve a happier and
a healthier existence.
Th e Rosicrucian teachings are not based on the ideasof any one individual. Unlike many New Age move-ments, the Rosicrucian philosophy has been developed
over centuries from the combined efforts of many great
itiinds. Ancient truths are incorporated into practical
time-tested techniques which you can begin to use imme-
diately. The lessons are structured in a sequential systemto provide safe, gradual development of your natural
psychic and spiritual abilities. 1his is a school of practical
mysticism, which encourages you to be open-minded,questioning, and to test the valué of the principies you
are learning by actively using them in your daily life.

THE SYSTEM OF STUDY
Each month, you’ll receive a packer of weekly lesson
called monographs, to read in the privacy of your ow
hom e. The lessons, about six to eight pages eacintroduce certain ideas and experiments in a straigh
forward and simple manner. We ask that you devoc
about one and a half hours once a week to study th
week’s lesson and perform any exercise or experimen
given. For the remainder of the week we encourag
you to periodically think about the important idea
concained in that lesson, and make repeated efforcs
accomplishing the exercises. We ask you for this simp
com mi tment because the lessons are not just a body
knowledge, but a way of life. If you only read them
and don’t attempt the experiments or practice th

Neo ph yte Section
Right from the start, the introductory monographs presen t Basic Rosicrucian concepts thar you can
apply in practical ways. One of the first things youlearn as a Neophyte is that you are a dual being. In
addition to your five physical senses, you also havea psychic sensc. Exercises in these introduc tory lessons
are designed to gradually awaken and develop the psychic facuIty. Exercises presented here and throughoutthe entire Rosicrucian system allow you to discover for yourself through direct experience how these
principies work.
Temple Section
Having completed the lessons of the Neophyte
Section, you stand at an important milestone in
your progress along the mystical path. No longer
a Neophyte, you are now ready to leave the Atrium
and enter the Temple. Your studies in the Neophyte
Section established the foundation for the lessonsof the Temple degrees. You have been introduced to
the various elements of the Rosicrucian system
and had the opportunity to practice many of the prin
cipies presen ted throu gh simple experiments. The
Temple degrees will further develop these elements,
pro vid ing additiona l depth and practical applications
of the principies.
The Rosicrucian Order is not just a course of
study, but a way of life. White the essentíal Rosicrucian
teachings are covered in the first five years, the explo-
ration of universal laws is truly a lifelong study. As longas we live, we never stop learning. Therefore, the
Rosicrucian lessons continué for many years, providing
you with even grearer insights and exploration of rhe
Rosicrucian principies and techniques.
THE INITIATIC TRADITION
The Rosicrucian Order is a fraternal order. As a mem ber, you are no t just taking a course of study. Youare passing through degrees of study, rituals, cere-
monies, exercises, and demonstrations that have a longhistorical background with new information constandy
being added.
Rosicrucian initiations are fraternal rituals designed to
mark the milestones of a students progress on the
mystical path. In these beautiful rituals, mystical laws
and principies are demonstrated in a dramatic form, inorder to borh inform and inspire the Rosicrucian student.
Al most all of the degrees of Rosicrucian study are preceded by an initiation ceremony , written in an impres-
sive and brief form that can easily be performed at
home during your study period. You also have the
option of receiving these initiations in a more elabórateform in the Orders affiliated Lodges il you like. You (1
find that these initiations, when conferred in the
Temple of a Rosicrucian Lodge with all officers partici-
pating, are even more impressive to the psyche. Both the
home ceremonies and the Lodge initiations are specially
prepared to introduce toyo u in an impressive, symbolic, and dramatic way the importance of each new degree
hito which you are entering.
FRATERNAL AFFLIATIO NThe Rosicrucian Order, as a fraternal organization,
maintains a system of local Rosicrucian groups to sup~
plement the home study pro gram. As a student of theRosicrucian Order, you have the option and privilege of
attending an affiliated Lodge, Chapter, or Pronaos if
there is one in your area. Here you canenjoy the company of fellow Rosicru- B* AN0 i
cians, hear inspiring lectures,

with other students, and partici pare in beautiful ceremonies and
stimulating discussions. In addition, you'll have the opportunity toattend a variety of special events,
seminars, and conventions. No Rosicrucian
member is obligated to associate with a local Rosicrucian
group, but it is highly recommended. This is a special privilege offered to you, and provides a uñique oppor

The Rosicrucian Order is known internationally by
its traditional and authentic title, the AncientMystical Order Rosae Crucis, from which is derived
the acronym “AMORC.” The Ancient Mystical Order
Rosae Crucis is the Latin form of the organizations
ñame, which literally translates into the AncientMystical Order of the Rosy Cross. There is no religious
connotation associated with this symbol; the Rosy Cross
symbol predates Christian ity. *1he cross symbolicallyrepresents the human body and the rose represents the
individuáis unfolding consciousness. Together, the roseand cross represent the experiences and challenges of
a thou ghtful life well 1i ved. Thus, by our ñame and
symbol we represent the ancient fraternity of Rosicrucians, perpetuating the true traditions of Rosicrucian
movements from centuries past to the present day.The history of the Rosicrucian Order may be divided
into two general classifications: traditional and chrono-
logical. The traditional history consists of mystical
allegories and fascinating legends that have been
passed down for centuries by word o f mou th . The
Rosicrucian Order’s chronological accounts are basedon specific dates and verifiable facts.
