Introduction Michael Lane A fantastical imaginary story is used to re-enact previous projects, applying a different set of constraints to the exploration. The limitations of a single type of discourse and a single form of representation are discarded, allowing the performance of the design process to be revealed and revelled in. David McCarthy Colours and Contradictions, Lighting Up Derelict Spaces, Through An Alleyway Into An Arts Arena, A Former 'Bond Street' Lit Up In Bright Lights, From The Sweet Taste of A Bee's Labour, To The Enticing Fragrance of A Hidden Root, Elixir in The Making, An Extravagant Aroma Fills The Air, The Fragrant Breeze Travels Six Miles East, Arriving At A Rose Garden In Bloom, When The Last Petal Falls, The Tea Will Be Ready Simon Roberts Salisbury: Contemplating the Dean: A Re-imagined Architecture explores the narrative of a headstrong Dean as he becomes deeply involved with an architecture he creates within himself. The folly is a reworked architecture inspired by the found drawings the Dean created many centuries ago and buried within the grounds of the spire. It is the culmination of prefabrication and coding found through the two years of work. Timothy Teuber Metamorphosis, Fire Earth Water Air: From fire juggling, hydroponics and West Country identity the ideas and themes of my work were realised in the re-invention of a controversial site in Bristol's Stokes Croft. The work has set up an architectural position and methodology to use in future practice.

Beginnings This catalogue celebrates the work of the first graduating students of the Masters of Architecture (ARB Part2). A special group, from their first project with performative actions and interventions, then a project with social responsibility around the world, another with the ecologies of the local recycling centre at Hatch Pond, finally to their thesis projects; they supported one another and forged new ways of thinking and creating, ready for the challenges of their futures. Their final projects ranged across reiterative processing & modelling, performing tea, hydroponics and towers, located in Bournemouth, Salisbury and Bristol. These students have performed at a very high level and produced some fascinating work. Architecture at the Arts University Bournemouth is about making and innovating. Centred around the themes of the perforative, projective and the ecological the MArch seeks to focus postgraduate students creative energy into a new projective casts and its fabrication.
