Kharma International

In 1982 Charles van Oosterum founded the company O.L.S, which

appears to be the first brushstroke on an empty canvas that would evolve

over time to a Dutch masterpiece. During the on-going strive to create the

ultimate audio experience, the Kharma brand was established in 1993.

The name Kharma is derived from the wisdom that all positive energy you

put into the world, will eventually come back to you, but so will negative

energy. It’s like one of Newton’s laws of physics, every action has its equal

and opposite reaction. With this in mind we design, engineer and produce

Kharma products every day.

A perfect sound representation in a luxurious design with far-reaching

attention to detail and technology, build with craftsmanship out of unique

materials is what can be expected of Kharma. Over the years Kharma

has acquired this unique reputation and style, realized by a team of highly

dedicated, committed specialists.

Enigma Veyron Collection

With every piece of art the creator has a palette of colour and flavours

to choose from, to be able to evoke a feeling of true beauty. During the

creation of a High-End audio product this is not any different. Our Kharma

palette consists of more than 30 years of experience, new technological

insights and the best selected materials. With this generously filled

palette, Charles van Oosterum has created the Enigma Veyron line on his

journey to realize the Holy Grail in the High-End audio. To create a new

level of sound quality and truly offer superior technology that would push

the limits of the current dynamic loudspeakers was not an easy task.

Fully new engineered Kharma drivers are the fundament of the Enigma

Veyron loudspeakers. The bass and midrange section of the Veyron

loudspeakers are formed by the exclusive Kharma Omega-F Drivers.

The F stands for 0-Foucault currents, which is a novelty in the audio world,

because for the first time no iron is used in the magnet motor-system,

avoiding any interaction between the current in the voice coil and the

present magnetic field. Moreover the Omega-F driver is remarkable by the

use of carbon fibres for the chassis, cone and voice coil. With the combi-

nation of a 25 mm and 50 mm Diamond tweeter for the high frequencies

the Enigma Veyron line proves it is equipped with an extraordinary set

of drivers. This all results in a higher resolution, more micro and macro-

dynamics, faster transients, a more richer spectrum of tonal variations

from the music itself and more natural, explosive and realistic sounding.

The loudspeaker cabinets are constructed out of 5-axis CNC-milled Bullet

wood parts to not only create the absolute High-End audio experience

but at the same time to also evoke a feeling of true beauty while listening.

Enigma Veyron CollectionELECTRONICS

To achieve the most beauty in a piece of art, the boundary condition must

also be fulfilled perfectly. The placement in the room and framework must

be right on the spot. Therefore the Enigma Veyron line does not only

includes extraordinary loudspeakers, but also offers the components

to realize the complete picture. New wide band linear power amps, an

app and touchscreen operating pre-amp, an app controlled subwoofer

and massive power distributors are developed. This all is placed in a

beautifully engineered Diamond suspended audio rack with 38 mm

thick aluminium plates.

Although the constructions are massive, all components are decoupled

from the surrounding by a minimum contact surface created with

Carborundum balls placed on Diamonds. The combination of the

hardness, shape and acoustical properties of the materials used,

realize the ultimate freedom of resonances. Therefore this feature of

minimum contact surfaces can be found in every product through the

Enigma Veyron line.

The Exquisite collection is a piece of art in every way, from the use of

perfect materials to construction and finish, all are exceptional. The com-

bination of advanced Diamond dome technology for the tweeters and

the Kharma Omega driver with ultra-stiff carbon fibres for the midrange

emphasizes this incredible attention to detail even more.

The Exquisite loudspeakers can only achieve astonishing musicality by

using complex crossover techniques, which can be seen as the beating

heart of this loudspeaker. Kharma has mastered the art of retaining

musical wholeness with the proprietary crossover technique used in the

Exquisite series.

The Exquisite products own this musical wholeness, because amongst

others acoustic sizes really match: a small and fragile piano note will sound

like the original and will give the same feeling of that special moment,

but so will a big orchestra sound as impressive as during the concert

performance. All of that with utmost ease at every playing level.

Elegance Collection

The Elegance collection has a modern appeal, but at the same time a

heritage that goes back for almost 20 years. The Ceramique line was

the successful predecessor of the Elegance collection. Although the

shape of the cabinets has been unchanged, the beauty of the design has

been improved in many ways and the audiophile performance seriously

increased. New technological insights changed the use of the

characteristic Ceramique drivers to the use of the Kharma Composite

Drivers with carbon fibre. The effect of this innovation combined with the

pure Beryllium tweeter is very clearly audible in every listening session.

Combined with an impeccable surface finish, anodized aluminium

trimmings and subtle chrome accents makes the Elegance collection

ready to define a new standard for the coming decade.

SIGNATURE VERSION

All loudspeaker models in the Elegance line exist in a Signature version,

which is a significant audible upgrade. For the midrange section, the

Kharma Composite Driver is interchanged with the Kharma Omega-7

driver. This Omega-7 driver is based on Ultra High Modulus carbon fibres,

which is the best fibre available on the globe today. The use of these

ultra-stiff carbon fibres and a unique resin, together with a proprietary

production process, displaces the break-up frequencies of the cone, in

comparison with the Kharma Composite driver, to an even more refined

level of excellence. Moreover, the pure silver internal wiring is enhanced

by increasing the cross-sectional conductive area and the acoustical

damping is enhanced to absorb all energy in a wide frequency range.

Besides this a vibration-reducing compound is used to bring mechanical

vibration to an absolute minimum.

Butterf ly SystemCOMPACT LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM

Kharma proudly presents a unique combination of satellite speakers and

a powerful subwoofer, called the Kharma Butterfly system. Despite the

compact design of the Butterfly, this new system will amaze many while

listening to it for the first time.

Our goal was to create a fresh new lifestyle audio product, because we

believe a refined music representation will enrich your daily life and evoke

feelings of true happiness. We have challenged nature to be able to create

a Satellite speaker that sounds refined, but accepts a modest sized

cabinet. As bass is essential to bring music alive, we’ve created a modest

sized subwoofer as well that complies with this need and at the same

time has the intelligence and power to control the whole Butterfly system.

The amplification for the Subwoofer and Satellites is integrated in the rigid

aluminium enclosure of the Subwoofer.

This refined high-end audio system comes with an app for the iPad.

With this app you can control the volume of the system, switch between

the analogue and digital input channel, switch between rooms where

the Butterfly is present and tune the sound of the subwoofer with a

parametric equalizer. The same controls are also made available in the

software for the PC and Mac.

Kharma Cable Collection

The internal cable of a Kharma loudspeaker is based on a combination

of various diameter strands of pure silver, silver-gold and mono-atomic

silver conductors. The same philosophy as for the internal cabling is used

to create an extensive line of cables that sonically matches with our loud-

speakers. Each cable line has its own level of excellence that is embodied

in a loudspeaker cable, interlink, power cord or power block.

The Kharma cables have a carefully selected combination of sonically

vast superior conductive strands to ensure a superb signal transmission,

ultra effective shielding to protect the conductors from electromagnetic

interference and massive vibration isolating tubing to reduce structure

born and air-born-vibrations to a minimum. Kharma has developed these

cables so that you can experience the music as it’s meant to be.

ENIGMA EXTREME SIGNATURE

The ultimate example of the cable excellence is the Enigma Extreme

Signature Loudspeaker cable, which is based on huge superior quality

conductors. These conductors consist of unique mono-atomic silver and

various diameter pure silver-gold strands, which are treated with the

Kharma Advanced Core Treatment and equipped with the new Kharma

Proprietary Insulation. The loudspeaker cable is terminated with special

high quality pure silver Kharma spades, which makes a perfect match

with the mono-atomic silver and pure silver-gold conductors, realizing a

high-quality one-material conductor-termination-circuit. As the smallest

details speak the loudest, Kharma takes notion of the smallest details in

the materials, process and development to enhance the smallest details

in the musical experience.
