1893Formation of University of Wales (UW)

Formed by Royal Charter in 1893, the University of Wales was regarded as one of the most important political and social developments in the nineteenth century.

1905Formation of Universiti Malaya (UM)

The oldest university in Malaysia, Universiti Malaya has its roots in Singapore with the establishment of King Edward VII College of Medicine on 28 September 1905.

2015First convocation of IUMW graduates.

2021A community of 1908 students and 863 graduates from 48 countries.

2013Formation of IUMW, joint-venture of UW and UM.

Owned by two prestigious universities, the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW) was established based on a mutual partnership between Universiti Malaya (UM) & the University of Wales (UW), UK in 2013. CMI Accreditation The Master of Business Administration (Open and Distance Learning) is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). When you graduate, alongside your Masters you will also obtain the highest level of CMI qualification and will be eligible for Chartered Manager* status from the CMI. Throughout your studies, you have free CMI Membership giving you access to a range of resources including CMI Mentoring, networking events, and the Career Development Centre.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent as accepted by the Senate, CGPA 2.50 out of 4.00

As the digital age continues to evolve, so too do opportunities for communications graduates. The Master of Arts (Professional Communication) programme is designed to provide students with the skills they need to embrace and manage contemporary communication issues within industry. Students will explore the art of digital information management and will be equipped with the skills and competencies to become communication experts in this challenging globalisation era. Offered through a flexible mixture of lectures and seminars, this degree offers prospects for individual assessment and teamwork. Through the faculty’s strong links with industry, students get to embark on work-integrated education experiences, giving them the opportunity to enhance the quality of their portfolio and to benefit from meaningful exposure to industry.

Our Master of Science in Project Management integrates advanced professional knowledge with technical, practical and cross-cultural management of projects in a flexible learning environment with global exposure.

The programme is designed with industrial orientation, and will benefit those in a range of sectors and industries. Students will be able to demonstrate a body of knowledge in project management within various functional areas such as construction, engineering, aerospace, architecture, maintenance, facilities management, disaster management, agriculture, biotechnology, oil & gas, logistics, factory automation, information systems, information & communication technology, digital technology, education, research & development, management and operations. The learning facilitators are academics and industry practitioners with a wealth of experience in the field. Emphasis is given to managing physical and virtual project teams with real-life case studies. The strong technical and practical courses will prepare graduates to lead successful projects in a VUCA world.

Internet engineering blends electrical and computer engineering with computer science and information systems. As an Internet engineer, you would design, develop, and implement network and communication systems, Internet systems, and software applications.

Graduates of this programme acquire the skills necessary to design, manage and maintain the networks that will build the Future Internet, placing them in a prime position at the forefront of this rapidly changing field.

Designed with industry needs in mind, we are developing the next generation of engineers for the internet age. The programme incorporates material from the following professional courses, which will give students a head start in their careers:
