Communion to Hospital or home for the Sick & Shut-ins ~ Contact Parish Office Wake Service Minister ~ Sr. Norma Zorzi One of my sisters married an American and moved to the mid-western state of Missouri. On two occasions I had the opportunity to go there for their Thanksgiving which is celebrated near the end of November. The first me we were called to go because my brother-in-law suffered a massive heart aack and died the morning before the holiday. It was a nightmare trying to arrange flights in the midst of the holiday traffic but we all made it to be with my sister and her two teenage sons and I officiated at the funeral. The second me was about four years later. It was awe- some to celebrate with my sister and nephews and all her in-laws. The next day she and a good friend insisted on taking me shop- ping. Her friend's husband tried to warn me but I couldn't imagine it would be as crazy as he said. Well was I shocked! Of course there was no snow...but it was like the day before Christmas and the crowds were massive. These two experiences really capture for me the Church's message in the first two weeks of Advent. As well as the 'waing and expecng' we looked at last week, we are challenged to consider our own mortality. Preparing and celebrang are very big elements of the season and of our faith life. It boggles my mind how the world around me changes come December. It's like a blanket of 'Chrisanity' comes down, sort of like a blan- ket of snow...the excitement of the first snowball and the groan of geng out the shovels. Society thinks about giſting the less fortunate with food, clothing, toys or money (feed the hungry, clothe the naked); cease firing and sincere best wishes (love your enemies). It is good and it feels good! It seems so distracng at mes ...but all of the pares, giſt buying, music, adversing, decorang are the things I try to bring into my prayer me as reminders of the awesome influence the celebraon of the Birth of Jesus has on the world around us. And yet there is that old 'however' again! There is all the joy and celebrang and there is also sadness and loneliness. The cycle of life and death are very much a part of our lives. The message of the season is that we wait and expect and we live and we die with faith because we are waing for and expecng new life, Life in Christ here on earth and that is Life Eternal. REFLECTION CWL: Elections for new CWL Executive will take place in January 2018. Please consider putting your name in for one of the positions or nominate someone for a position. One of my sisters married an American and moved to the mid-western state of Missouri. On two occasions I had the opportunity to go there for their Thanksgiving which is celebrated near the end of November. The first time we were called to go because my brother-in-law suffered a massive heart attack and died the morning before the holiday. It was a nightmare trying to arrange flights in the midst of the holiday traffic but we all made

it to be with my sister and her two teenage sons and I officiated at the funeral. The second time was about four years later. It was awe-some to celebrate with my sister and nephews and all her in-laws. The next day she and a good friend insisted on taking me shop-ping. Her friend's husband tried to warn me but I couldn't imagine it

would be as crazy as he said. Well was I shocked! Of course there was no snow...but it was like the day before Christmas and the crowds were massive.

These two experiences really capture for me the Church's message in the first two weeks of Advent. As well as the 'waiting and expecting' we looked at last week, we are challenged to consider our own mortality. Preparing and celebrating are very big elements of the season and of our faith life. It boggles my mind how the world around me changes come December. It's like a blanket of 'Christianity' comes down, sort of like a blan-ket of snow...the excitement of the first snowball and the groan of getting out the shovels. Society thinks about gifting the less fortunate with food, clothing, toys or money (feed the hungry, clothe the naked); cease firing and sincere best wishes (love your enemies). It is good and it feels good!

It seems so distracting at times ...but all of the parties, gift buying, music, advertising, decorating are the things I try to bring into my prayer time as reminders of the awesome influence the celebration of the Birth of Jesus has on the world around us. And yet there is that old 'however' again! There is all the joy and celebrating and there is also sadness and loneliness. The cycle of life and death are very much a part of our lives. The message of the season is that we wait and expect and we live and we die with faith because we are waiting for and expecting new life, Life in Christ here on earth and that is Life Eternal.

Czesław Wieczór zam. Janek z rodziną.

Z ŻYCIA KOŚCIOŁA 1. Pan przyjdzie, by zbawić i uradować serca oczekujących Go.

In your Mercy Lord, we entrust Marian to your care.

CITY WIDE ADVENT DAY OF CONFESSION At Precious Blood Cathedral

Tuesday, Dec. 12th 8:00am to 8:00pm Various priests will be available all day for the sacra-ment of Reconciliation. See the bulletin board for the

list of times for available priests.

Tuesday, December 12th, OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE & the National Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples in Canada we are invited to come together in prayer for the victims and their loved ones with the following prayer: Creator God, we acknowledge all of the gifts we have been given. We especially acknowledge the gifts of

the women in our lives, our mothers, grandmothers, wives, aunts, sisters and nieces. We express our sorrow

and hurt for those of our Indigenous sisters who have gone missing or have been murdered. At this time, we

ask for blessings for all women and especially for those who have experienced inexplicable violation and

suffering. We ask for comfort, care and consolation for those family members left behind. We again

acknowledge the gifts of the Spirit we have been given and we ask for these blessings in Christ. Amen.

C.W.L. May Your merciful Face, support us as we walk amid passing things, You teach us, the earthly pilgrims, to love the things of heaven and hold fast to what endures. I think, that God teaches us to love our neigh-bours through the service of the CWL, through Your service, Your social activities, charitable help, and ac-tive participation in the life of the Parish community. I can say: O Lord, behold Your true servants. When I think about Your dedication for CWL and experience a deep movement especially, when I remind myself of all the food prepared by You especially because of the Alpha process. You service all, but like invisible spir-its you bustle in the kitchen with smile on Your faces. These are modest signs of Your dedications, of Your love of the Community of the Church; and members of the Mystical Body of Christ. Like Lay Catholics you are deeply engaged in the CWL. May the Lord fill up your hearts with faith, which helps all of you to see reality - better, deeper and may Your dedication for our parish community be for you a journey for the meeting with the Lord, right now, here, on earth. It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation al-ways and everywhere to give God thanks and also all of you. Thank you very much for all, especially for the soup and meat pie given to me.

WOLDANSKI, Marian – Sadly on Dec. 4th, our church community has lost a long-time member, Marian Woldanski at the age of 85. He was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1949. He moved to Sault

Ste. Marie in 1956 to pursue work as a machinist at Algoma Steel Corp. His bride, Eugenia, joined him in 1959. They were married for 57 years. Together they were long-time mem-bers of St. Andrew Bobola Parish. They raised 3 children, Jimmy, Donna & Grace, who all reside in Sault Ste. Marie , and have three grandchildren, Liisa, Evan & Morgan. He retired from Algoma Steel in 1992. He was the strength and pillar of his family.

Funeral mass was celebrated at Holy Family Parish on Fri. Dec. 8th. Rev. Boguslaw Jaroszek officiated. Memorial contributions to Holy Family Parish would be appreciated.

Our Deepest Sympathy
