“Amen, amen I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep.” Jesus is the Good Shepherd that cares for His sheep. The shepherd is familiar, loving, & providing. He is the gatekeeper of the sheepfold. If we follow the shepherd on the right path, He will lead us home. We are His sheep who daily pass through the gate for safe rest & out for rich pastures. Jesus’ mission as gate is to assure us life in abundance. May we always live by His grace. Thank you for all your prayers for our 1st Communicants who received 1st Eucharist this weekend. Calling all Women

GRACE Women’s Group is holding an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, May 13. We want to share our history and experiences with this amazing ministry. We want to hear and discuss your thoughts on our current and future format for our meeting. There is no commitment to

an annual membership. We will have light refreshments. We meet immediately following the 8:00 am Mass (about 8:45) in the St. Elizabeth Room. Our meeting generally ends by 10:00 am to allow us to go out and experience the day God has prepared for us. If you have any additional questions, please contact Elizabeth Blush at 714-319-1452 or via email at [email protected]. \

Home Visit Ministry “Reaching Out to Our Own and Connecting the Dots”, a Home Visit testimonial: Shortly after hearing about the Home Visitation Ministry I received a post card informing me that I would be “visited” that coming Sunday afternoon. I was curious about this ministry since it was something new to our Parish. Well, two lovely ladies arrived right on time. I welcomed them in, knowing Veronica Chukwueke and meeting the other lady for the first time. After verifying my contact information we had a very pleasant chat. Finally, they asked me if I had any concerns or comments about the Parish. Having been a parishioner for 38 years, I shared that I had seen many changes, met new pastors and witnessed a tremendous growth in our faith community, the Home Visit Ministry being one of them. I also voiced a concern that was taken back to the church office and immediately addressed. It was a wonderful visit that took all of 20 minutes and I encourage everyone to welcome the Home Visitation Ministry to their door....they'll be glad they did!” ~ Irene Gonzalez Get involved; Contact Susan at [email protected] or Eldon at [email protected].

A Gift for all Mothers from OBRIA Medical Clinics

Next Sunday we celebrate the joy and wonder of Motherhood. Roses are given to all women who have nurtured God’s precious gift of life. A second collection will be taken for Obria Medical Clinics (formerly known as Birth Choice) who generously provided the roses for our mothers. Obria needs our financial assistance to provide medical care, parenting classes and other assistance to those women who are struggling to make the choice for Life. Please be generous. Sponsored by St Martin’s Respect Life& Family.

The "Obria Direct" App This App automatically connects the online user to a live nurse. This is the only Pro Life Group that has an online medical clinic "Telemedicine" to reach young women where they are - on their smartphones. Go to www.obria.org/ to download the app or share with a friend."

Join Us for Our Annual 2017 Blue Mass Honoring First Responders

Friday, May 12—Mass and Blessing at 6:30 pm—St. Martin Reception to follow in the Gathering Plaza

A Blue Mass is a Mass celebrated annually in the Catholic Church for those employed in the "public safety field" (i.e. police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, 911 operators and EMS Personnel). The color blue relates to the blue-colored uniforms predominantly used by these services. Similar to the Red Mass, the service honors those who have died in the line of duty and those currently serving as first responders. The Mass is an opportunity for the community to show gratitude to first responders and their families. Police, fire and other emergency vehicles will be on display.

The Pilgrim Virgin & the 100th Anniversary of Fatima! What a great way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Our Blessed Mother’s apparitions at Fatima (from May – October 1917) than to have the Pilgrim Virgin come to your home! The Legion of Mary has brought Her to more than 50 homes and she has truly brought those families many graces and bless-ings. She usually stays for 1-2 weeks and the family is encour-aged to pray the rosary daily. This would be a great way to heed Her call at Fatima for devotion to the rosary and Her Im-maculate Heart to pray for the reparation of sins and for the conversion of sinners. If interested, please call Natalie Tung at 714-696-9149 or email her at [email protected].
