TheMysteriesoftheRosaryHave you ever wanted to explore the life of Jesus and Mary in a deeper way? Each decade highlights a sacred episode: Joyful Mysteries: Through the Annunciation (1) and Visitation (2), we get a glimpse at Mary’s joyful yes to God. She gives birth to Jesus in the Nativity (3). Mary and Joseph pre-sent their son at the temple (4) and bring him there again when he is a teenager (5). Luminous Mysteries: Jesus is baptized in the Jordan River (1) before Mary gives him a nudge to his irst miracle at Cana (2). Jesus proclaims the Gospel (3), is trans igured on Mount Tabor (4), and institutes the Eucharist (5). The light is shining! Sorrowful Mysteries: Jesus prays in agony in Gethsemane (1), knowing his hour of suffering has come. After his betrayal and arrest, Jesus is scourged (2) and crowned with thorns (3). He carries his cross (4), and Mary stands at the foot of the cross as he is cruci ied (5). Glorious Mysteries: Christ is risen in glory (1)! After appearing to those he loves, he as-cends into heaven (2). Jesus’ followers receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (3). Mary, unaf-fected by original sin, is assumed body and soul into heaven (4), where she is crowned queen, humble mother of Christ the King (5). ©LPi

“Andwhateveryoudo,inwordorindeed,doeverythinginthenameoftheLordJesus,givingthankstoGodtheFatherthroughhim.”-Colossians3:17 If you were here on Friday, October 4, 2019 I’m certain you will agree with me that we celebrated our patron Saint’s feast and our 50th celebration with solemnity and dignity. I am very grateful to Bishop Konzen, who took the time to celebrate the Mass for us. Sister Dian Hall did an amazing job in organizing the liturgy for that evening and being the leader for the entire event. In the same line I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire celebration committee which includes; . A special thanks to our facility manager, Rodolfo Pena for preparing the facilities and organizing the set up of the tents, chairs and tables. There were several nights that some ladies worked very hard in making the loral arrangements for the table decorations: thank you to Stella Bonner, Paula Womack, Jeanne Taylor, Linda Jezerinac and Paulma Overcash. A big thank you goes to the generous gift we received from the Knights of Columbus, the CCW, the Women in Faith and other parishioners who graciously made donations for the event. A special thank you to El Charro for the donation of wine. The food was excellent, thanks in part to the recommendation of Theresa Corcoran. Thank you also to Tammy Aldridge for the cakes. Thank you our teens for serving and who made sure everyone was taken care of. Thank you on behalf of our St. Francis families, our staff and myself. We are deeply grateful for all you did to make our 50th anniversary celebration a spectacular event! In Christ, Fr. Juan

¿SABIAUSTED…...Laimportanciadeutilizarlossobresdeldiezmo?

©LPi
