FEEDING EMPTINESS
“I will sing to the Lord for His goodness to me” (Ps 13:6)
The fact remains that because of original sin we are constantly starving. We starve to feed the emptiness, the imperfect, the hurting part of our hearts and souls. Because of the lure of sin and the sting of a world where bad things happen, our hearts and souls yearn to be filled. Zion, aka Israel, knows this first hand and wants to comfort us in the First Reading (Is 49:14-15). The prophet Isaiah responds to those still in exile with a wonderful motherly image – a mother never forgets her child, so God cannot forget you. It is so true. So many mothers are always there for their children, even when they are not physically there. Mothers hurt with their children, cry with their children and celebrate with their children. God’s love for you is even greater. God’s love and desire to feed your heart and soul goes beyond any-thing you can imagination or sense. This is why we hear in the gospel read-ing “not to worry” (Mt 6:14-34). Jesus says don’t try to serve two masters, God and material things. The goal is feeling better about your self and oth-ers, not looking better (material things). Jesus offer’s God the Father’s love by daily clothing us internally. God wants to mold, to fashion, to love us into the best version of ourselves. The challenge is that Jesus requires much of us: turn the other cheek; forgive seventy times seven; pick up our daily cross to follow him. Hard stuff. The good news is that God, who loves and cares for us so tenderly, will fill us. The yuck we should deal with will not go away, but if done in Jesus’ name…well the sense of peace, love and joy will abound. Sing to the Lord for His goodness; sing to the Lord for the many ways that he is truly feeding our emptiness.

Stewardship Thought Stewards of the mysteries of God — that’s what St. Paul
says we are in today’s second reading. And the first re-quirement, he says, is that we be trustworthy. Entrusted
with the gift of faith, do I share it as gratefully and as gen-
erously as I do my time, my talent, and my treasure?
Please remember in your daily prayers the sick and
suffering of our parish family.

Living Everyday with Passion & Purpose led by Matthew Kelly, invites us all to identify God's voice in our lives and the specific purpose for which we've been created. Matthew inspires attendees to apply the genius of Catholicism to every aspect of our lives including prayer & spirituality, work, dating & marriage, personal finances, health & well being, parenting, and community involvement. Matthew Kelly, and musician, Eliot Morris, prepares a unique mes-sage inspired by God and the teachings of the Church that promises to radiate in your life. Consider this: most people take more time to plan their annual vacation than they do to dis-cover the voice of God and His plan for their life. Join us for one of our Living Every Day with Passion & Purpose events. It's not your typical church event! It has been a life-changing event for tens of thousands of people.
