died recently. May God grant him the peace of Heaven
and consolation to his family.
Please join us in congratulating Sherry
Bockus as being chosen as Our Lady of Perpetual
Help’s “Catholic Woman of the Year.” She was honored by Bishop Campbell at a banquet held last Sunday at St. Charles Preparatory School for her selfless contributions to our parish, and our community, in service to our Lord. Daily Mass is the foundation of life for Sherry. She draws her strength for the day from the Eucharist and the support of the parish family. Sherry is a valuable member of Parish Council. She serves as the special Activities chairperson for the Parish Women’s Association. She has a passion for the Ministry of Communion to the Homebound that she started 25 years ago and still coordinates. “She loves bringing Jesus to the homebound.” She treasures the relationships she has formed through this ministry. Sherry serves as Vice President of the Health and Wellness Ministry for OLPH, checking blood pressures and blood sugar levels monthly after Mass, as well as at our Community Food Bank. She is also an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion as well as a Lector. She loves reading the Word of the Lord and trying to make it come alive for our parishioners. Sherry has spent her entire life in service to others. Having earned a Master’s degree in Nursing, her career path has led her through many opportunities throughout the community to not only teach student nurses, but direct and develop programs and nutritional services for Ross Labs. Sherry coordinated the School of Practical Nursing for Columbus Public Schools as well as for Columbus State Community College. She has served as a private duty and home visiting nurse, where she went over and above her required duties and often assisted her patients in the hospital and nursing home placements. She became family to her patients. Sherry serves as a volunteer nurse counselor for the Pregnancy Decision Health Center, providing guidance and resources for young women.
Again, congratulations Sherry and thank you
for your service!

Dear Parishioners, It is with great joy that I share with you the results of this year's Bishop's Annual and Our Lady Appeals. To date, we have received pledges of $238,000, which is $100,000 OVER the bishop's goal. This is indeed a terrific accomplishment all in our parish family can be proud of. Bishop Campbell and I thank you for your generosity. The Our Lady Appeal funds (those received above the bishop's goal) will be returned to us, diocesan assessment free for the following uses; The life center tables have already been replaced, $50,000 has been earmarked for replacing the gymnasium floor, and the balance reserved for future capital projects. During this campaign, I observed that God has the power to change circumstances and provide for us. Indeed, he has made possible great things here through your stewardship of treasure. May your generosity be returned a hundredfold in the coming days. Love,
Fr. Dan

Laurelville Clothing Collection Next weekend (Labor Day weekend), the St. Vincent de Paul Society will have vehicles at the church for your clothing and bedding donations to help the needy of Laurelville and surrounding areas. Although most items which function and are in good condition can be used, children’s and teenagers’ clothing are especially needed. Toys (new and gently used) would be appreciated. The vehicles will leave Sunday at 12:15 p.m.
Since our June 2014 5th Sunday Collection, St. Vincent de Paul Society has provided financial
assistance of a little over $7,500 to 55 individuals for help with rent, mortgage payments, motel expense, electric, gas, water, funeral expense, car repair, purchase of tires, and donation to the Tom Fennessy/Mike Harden backpack program. With the help of the Central Council St. Vincent de Paul, as well as St. Vincent de Paul conferences from St. Michael, St. Andrew, and St. Agatha parishes, and Grove City Emergency Services, we were able to provide a new well for a family who has been without their own water source since last September. We also provided at least 100 lunches for homeless persons. Members of St. Vincent de Paul Society will be at the doors of the Church next weekend, August 30-31, to accept your donations in support of our ministry to those in need in our parish and the Grove City community.
