Please join members of Fr. Vincent Ca-

podano Assembly of the Knights of Co-

lumbus for their Second Annual Patriotic

Rosary on Sat., July 4th at 4:20pm in St.

Francis of Assisi Church. At this time it is

appropriate that we celebrate our na-

tion’s birthday by praying for our nation, elected and

appointed officials and our states. If you have never

prayed the Patriotic Rosary, this will be an experience

that you will long remember.

Celebration of

Our Lady of Mount Carmen (Brown Scapular)

Thursday, July 16th

8:30am Mass The Brown Scapular is a Roman Catholic devotion of

Mary under the title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It is

worn as a sign of love and devotion for the Mother of

God. The Carmelite Order to which the Scapular be-

longs, originated on Mt. Carmel in the Holy Land and

the Scapular is itself a reflection in miniature of the

habit (scapular: a sleeveless outer garment falling from

the shoulders) which the monks wear as a sign of their

vocation and devotion. On July 16th at the 8:30am

Mass, Fr Flynn will bless and enroll you and your Brown

Scapular. (Brown Scapulars will be available and

handmade Rosary Beads for you to take, plus readings

on the Brown Scapular ) All are welcome.

St. Francis of Assisi Grief Ministry The St. Francis Grief Ministry provides prayer and

comfort to those faced with the end of life of a

loved one. We offer confidential support to those

in grief. Please call the Church office to register

at 817-481-2685.

Safe Environment HELP KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE WHILE

YOUR FAMILY WORSHIPS WITH THE COMMUNITY OF

ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI! The public areas of the St.

Francis facility (like the Narthex and restrooms of the

Church, the Parish Hall and Multi Purpose room) are just

that – they are open to the public. Your children must

not be permitted to leave the church sanctuary or

chapel alone! Go with them! Thank you for helping

keep your children safe!

Child care is available for children 4 year of age and

under during Saturday 5:00p.m. Mass and Sunday dur-

ing 8:00a.m., 10:00a.m., 1:00p.m. and 4:30pm Mass in

the Family Life Center. Staff is CPR trained and has

completed the Diocesan Keeping Children Safe Pro-

gram. Please come visit us. We will be happy to answer

any questions.

The 65th Anniversary Church Directories after are

here! During the month of June directories will be

available in the parish office for all parishioners who had

their picture taken. In July they will be made available

to all! A Big Thank You to the many parishioners who

helped in any way in making this directory possible .

Catholic Church. It is secure, convenient and Faith Di-

rect will provide you an offertory card to place in the

basket during the collections. There is no cost to you,

Calling all St. Francis Ministry Leaders!

Are you a leader of A St. Francis ministry? Do you

help organize readers, homebound ministry,

young adult ministry, Hispanic ministry, etc.? We

are creating a comprehensive Ministries List for

the website and for our new parishioner Welcome

Packet, and we don’t want to miss any St. Francis

Ministries! If you are responsible for a ministry here

at St. Francis parish, please complete the online

form at http://sfatx.org/ministrieslist as soon as

possible with your most updated contact informa-

tion. You can also complete a paper version at

the parish office. Please note, you must complete

this form by July 1 for your ministry to be included

in the Welcome Packet. For more information

contact Danielle Milliken at [email protected]

Thank you for all the cards and good wishes

I have received as I retire. I have loved

working with the preschoolers of St. Francis

for the last 25 years. My greatest joy is see-

ing the children I have known continue in

their Catholic faith. I have witnessed Bap-

tisms, First Communions and Confirmations. I

have watched children grow and become altar servers,

readers, ushers, and Eucharistic ministers. God bless St.

Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Karen Deal

MARRIAGE MOMENTS “Why are you terrified?” (Mk 4:40) What terrifies you about your

marriage? Infidelity? Loss of income? Lack of intimacy? Harm

coming to your beloved? Your beloved’s death?...Find a safe

time and talk it over.

PARENTING POINTERS Father’s Day. What qualities do you think make an ideal fa-

ther? Did you learn any of these from your own father? Tell

him in person or prayer. Identify one quality that you especially

want to pass on to your own child. Take a step to do it today.

Mobility Impaired—If you are, or know someone who is,

mobility impaired and would like the Blessed Sacrament

brought to their pew, please don’t hesitate to ask an usher be-

fore Mass. Let them know if you want the Body only or Body &

Blood. The ushers try seeking those who may need assistance

before Mass, but may not have seen that person entering. Let

them know – they want to help.

Vocation View Why are you so terrified? Why are you lacking in faith? If God

is calling you, do not be afraid. If the wind and sea obey

God’s call...shouldn’t we? (Mark 4:35-41)

CUB SCOUT RELIGIOUS EMBLEM is earned at home

and is a great activity for summer vacation. Learn

about your faith; spend quality family time together;

earn a medal to wear on your uniform. Two programs

are available to Catholic Cubs: Light of Christ for Tigers

and Wolves, and Parvuli Dei for Bears and Webelos.

They use Activity Books, available at Scout Shops, and

take about 3 months to complete. The Cub emblems

may be presented at your parish or at an Awards Cere-

mony with Bishop Olson in April. Classes for the BOY

SCOUT EMBLEMS will form in August. Find more at
