All Saints Day Friday, November 1st is All Saints Day and is a holy day of obligation. Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 am, 12:00 noon, and 7:00 pm.

First Saturday and All Souls Day All Souls Day is not a holy day of obligation, but because Mass is celebrated each first Saturday of the month, we will have Mass on Saturday, November 2nd at 9:00 am.

Book of Remembrance During the month of November, we will be remembering those that have gone before us. We will have a Book of Remembrance for the deceased loved ones of everyone in our parish. The Book of Remembrance will be available in the church through the end of November for you to add the names of your loved ones. The book will be placed in the sanctuary during the month of November, along with the All Souls Envelopes in your packet, with any names. They will be remembered during every Mass during the month of November as well.

An Extra Hour of Sleep

It’s that time of year again. Daylight savings time ends on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 at 2:00 am. It’s best to Fall Back an hour before you go to bed Saturday. It’s also a good time to change your smoke alarm batteries.

FAITH FORMATION Sunday, October 27th, 2019

THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 8TH WEEK OF FAITH FORMATION

FAITH FORMATION IS IN its 8th WEEK - Are you happy so far this year? Parent and KIDS, if you need anything come see me in the office. I believe that KIDS don’t fail at the end of the year, but may need our help getting to the end of the year. I’m here to HELP.

CATECHIST/TEACHER NEEDED – We are in need of a catechist/teacher for 5th grade Session B (10:00 – 10:50 am). If you are inspired and interested in helping, please call me or the Rectory Office.

PARENTS AND KIDS – I WANT TO ASK YOU SOME VERY SIMPLE QUESTIONS, OK? Do you come to church and do you get a bulletin? Do you read the bulletin? Do you read the DRE PAGE? God loves you and so do I, so why not come to church? Why not read the bulletin for what is happening in YOUR PARISH? Why not read the DRE? Please let me know your answer.

MARY’S GARDEN – I am still looking for some nice people to lend some time in helping develop a new look in Mary’s garden. Also, we need some weed pullers and ground keepers. Please see Deacon. He’s getting old and needs HELP. We do have some wonderful new helpers and they have been GREAT. Changes will be happening in Mary’s Garden. Be looking and praying.

BOXES OF JOY – PLEASE help our KOC #8159 in supporting a GREAT IDEA, “FOR CHILDREN WHO WISH FOR JUST ONE GIFT”. Can you help with this wonderful cause? Each child in Faith Formation has been given a brochure explaining the program, what can go into a Box of Joy and what can be given or not given for a boy or a girl. Parents, please help support this. Last year we filled over 45 boxes and made children living in poverty a whole lot happier waking up on Christmas morning. JUST A HEADS UP – you can bring your gifts to Faith Formation in a sack, bag(s), or hands and K of C will put them in a box or you can just ask me for a box. ALL BOXES MUST BE TURNED IN BY SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27TH OR AT THE LATEST NOVEMBER 3RD. “YES, is the answer to your question”, which is “CAN I JUST GIVE MONEY?” We are only 1 WEEK AWAY. PLEASE GIVE!

KIDS – CHRISTMAS IS COMING! The KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS will be handing out information on “KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS POSTER CONTEST” this week during all classes. Be thinking about that and the money you can win. Maybe buy Mom and Dad a nice Christmas present or maybe the Deacon.

KIDS SAFE TRAINING – NEXT SUNDAY – NOVEMBER 3rd and BACK UP DATE IS NOVEMBER 10TH. SAFE training is a requirement for all students from the Archdiocese of Washington on “PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN”. PARENTS ARE INVITED. If you have any questions, please contact the DRE.

PARENTS OF ON-LINE KIDS - Are you aware that you can look at your child’s progress each week? All you need to do is log on to “mycatholicfaithdelivered.com” and you can see your child’s report. In this way, you also help support their teachers in working with your child when they are behind in their homework and encourage them to do better in their class work. Let me know how that is going?

PARISH WEBSITE – Please visit the Parish Website @ www.ICChurchmd.org often to learn about Parish and Faith Formation events. The 2019/2020 calendar and registration information is now posted. If you have any questions, please contact me at 240-249-6010 or [email protected].

Adoration Eucharistic Adoration is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm each week. Confessions will also be heard during this time.

Deacon Bill Kyte, DRE

Lord,

Here I am. I trust that you have an incredible plan for me. Transform me. Transform my life. Everything is on the table. Take what you want to take and give what you want to give. I make myself 100 percent available to you today. Transform me into the person you created me to be, so I can live the life you envisioned for me at the beginning of time. I hold nothing back. I am 100 percent available. Lead me, challenge me, encourage me, and open my eyes to all your possibilities. Show me what it is you want me to do, and I will do it. Amen.
