Blessing of a Christmas Tree

Lord our God, we praise you for the light of creation: the sun, the moon, and the stars of the night. We praise you for the light of Israel: the Law, the prophets, and the wisdom of the Scriptures. We praise you for Jesus Christ your Son: he is Emmanuel, God-with-us, the Prince of Peace, who fills us with the wonder of your love.

Lord God, let your blessing come upon us as we illumine this tree. May the light and cheer it gives be a sign of the joy that fills our hearts. May all who delight in this tree come to the knowledge and joy of salvation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

YOU CAN HELP END HUNGER! (And give a gift to someone on your Christmas shopping list.) While many people look forward to sharing holiday meals with family and friends, those who are struggling never know if there will be enough to feed themselves and their family day in and day out. Please consider a St. Vincent’s Food Pantry Donation when doing your Christmas gift shopping. Your donation will truly make difference. For each $10 dollars that is donated, we can purchase $40 worth of food thru the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY. In return, you will receive a St. Vincent Food Pantry Christmas card to send to your gift recipient(s). Questions? Contact the Church Office at 489-5408. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To make your donation and get your Food Pantry Christmas Cards you can:

Take a break from all your activities to join Christ the King’s Youth & Junior Choir in singing Christmas Carols. The tree will be lit, followed by seasonal refreshments. Bring family & friends. Those who attend are asked to purchase a $5 McDonald’s Gift Card for the children of Tutwiler, MS. Tutwiler is a small town with almost half of it’s population living in poverty. The gift cards will give the children of Tutwiler a chance to visit McDonald’s, something many of their children have never experienced. For questions call Christ the King parish office at 456-1644.
