Venetian Masks (Masquerade Mask):

Venetian masks can be made of leather, porcelain or with the original glass technique. The original masks were rather simple in design, decoration, and often had a symbolic and practical function. Nowadays, most of them are made with the application of gesso and gold leaf and are all hand-painted using natural feathers and gems to decorate.

I like the split of design on the mask.

I also want to incorporate fabric on the edge of my mask.

I like the jewel on the top of the mask too.

I wish to base my design on medieval times… and incorporate the colours of this breakfast painting… While also including the gold theme that is common in Venetian masks, to maintain the historical context of the grandness that these masks symbolise.
