MASKENBALL Trachtenfest
Helau, Helau, Alaaf,
As our “Fasching Saison” is coming into fullswing, Prinz Gerhard I und Seine LieblichkeitPrinzessin Ditha I. are looking forward to seemany of you in your creative costumes at ourMaskenball on the 2nd of February in conjunctionwith the Kinderfasching and their kid-friendly ac-tivities in the afternoon, preceding the start ofMaskenball.
The Elferrat, under Aldis Graud’s Chairmanship, did an outstanding job orchestrating various skitsand entertainment for our Narrensitzung,
During the month of February our Club is not onlyhosting various Fasching Events, but also the Su-per Bowl LIII on February 3rd. Our quarterly Gen-eral Membership Meeting on the 10th and theTrachtenfest on the 23rd.
At our quarterly General Membership Meeting theElection Committee, Dave LaMarre, DianeStawski and Scott Bailey, will be looking for can-didates, willing to serve on the Board of Directors,to fill the slate for the upcoming election in May.The following positions are up for re-election:President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and twoDirectors. As a member of the Board, one willhave the opportunity to partake in the planning, organizing and shaping the Club’s events and fu-ture. We are at a point, where we will need mem-bers to step up to work on defining a direction toensure the continuance of German Heritage in ourarea. On average we meet once a month for aBoard meeting. Currently, each of our Directors
has a specific area of responsibility, usually in thefield of their expertise and experience. It’s impera-tive for our Organization to have enough candi-dates to fill all open Board positions.
Over the past few months we have experienced theneed for volunteers in the following areas: EventLaundry, Kitchen Cleaning, Food & BeverageInventory and Receiving, Bread & Dessert, DrinkTicket Sales and Check-in. Most of these tasks arecurrently performed on Wednesdays and the day ofan event. We are able to make necessary adjust-ments to meet your schedule. Not only will it beeasier on a certain volunteer, but we also canimplement a rotation amongst the group of mem-bers. Please contact any director if you are interest-ed in lending a helping hand.
In order for our Organization to thrive, we need toincrease the attendance at our events. So rememberto invite a friend or two to join you at an upcomingone. If you have any suggestions regarding bandsand/or different type of event, themed or not, thatcan be added to the schedule, feel free to share itwith Ray Baumgartner, our Director of Activities.
While Carnival in Rio may be bigger, and MardiGras in New Orleans may be better known in theUnited States, Fasching or Karneval Celebrationsacross Germany, Austria and Switzerland are justas wild and exciting…. We are committed tobringing the party to you!! In closing I would liketo wish you lots of fun-filled foolishness andHeiterkeit at our February events.
