Alec Brown, student at Yale University, New Haven, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Thayer Brown of Highland avenue. Edwin F. Dodge Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Dodge of Gros- venor, has been confined to his home following a dental opera- tion. Edwin is a student at the University ol" Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Bruno-Roh rbach At a tea on Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Hickey of Hobart Gap road, announced the en- gagement of Mrs. Hickey's daughter. Miss Marjorie Lois Bruno, to William Besson Rohr- bach, son of Mrs. Charles H. Rohrbach of Summit. Miss Bruno is the daughter of the late Frank T. Bruno. She was graduated from Millburn High School and attended Edge- wood Park Junior College, Brlarcliff Manor, N. Y. and Berkeley School, East Orange. Her fiance is a graduate of Plngry School and attended the University of P e n n s y lvania, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He recently quali- fied for appointment as flying cadet and is at Shaw Field, S.C. When the guests arrived out- side the house, they were greeted by Marjorie's Scottie, a recent Christmas gift, who was bedecked with two red hearts. Inside the door, Miss Phyllis Childrey handed them red and white roses to which hearts were tied which bore the couple's names. Mr. Rohrbftdi was home on a four days' Cm lough. Only friends of the couple were present. Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Dempsey and daughter, Miss Alice Demp- sey of Whitney road, have con- cluded a month's trip to Florida and Havana.
