Dear Parent and Carers
Staff changes for 2016 Due to a couple of teachers taking leave for some or part of 2016, we will be welcoming Jenni Kell-McCue and Annika Cortiana to our staff. We are also lucky to be able to keep Cindy Mackaway, Sharisse Harding and Sharynne Mullin as School Learning Support Officers.
Student Farewells Goodbye to our six Year 12 students who will be leaving Mary Brooksbank School at the end of the year and moving on with the next phase of their life as young adults. The Year 12 Formal was held at Campbelltown Catholic Club and was a beautiful night where we celebrated the graduation of our students who completed school this year. Thank you to the school community and families that attended the evening and made it such an enjoyable and memorable night. We will miss Turk A, Fran B, Caylon R, Anthony A, Tomas T and Beven C who have been valued members of our student body and we wish them all well.
Presentation Assembly Congratulations to all students and community members who received awards and certificates at our Presentation Assembly on 8th December. It is very pleasing to be able to recognise the achievements of these people across a variety of curriculum areas, citizenship, technology and sporting endeavours. At this Assembly our 2016 Captains and Prefects were announced:
School Captain: Joseph Maher
High School Prefects: Patrick
Buckley and Emma Ball
Primary Prefects: Caitlyn Lam and
Daniel Livings Another congratulations to our fantastic students who performed as part of the D’Arts Ensemble in Schools Spectacular this year. The students were amazing ambassadors for our school. Thanks to Myriam and Alana for supporting them during the rehearsals and performances.
Christmas Family Fun Day Our annual Family Fun Day provided by the P&C for our students, families
and wider community was a great success. The day was filled with fun as our students and their siblings enjoyed a variety of activities including the Paddle Pop Lion, farm animals, fire brigade, water and sensory play. Santa made an appearance in his Santa Cave allowing children to have their photograph taken with him and the Photo Booth was well loved by staff and students, allowing everyone to take away some memories of the day. The students performed in our Christmas concert which was really well received by our school community. The P&C massive Christmas Raffle was drawn with some very lucky and happy winners from our wider school community. Thanks to your families for supporting us on this day and sharing the end of year celebrations with your child.
Adidas Fun Run (Sports Carnival) Fundraiser Congratulations to all students who secured donations as part of our Adidas Fun Run (Sports Carnival) earlier this term. Tomasi raised an amazing $431.50 for our school. Other students who raised between $100 and $400 were Patrick, Trinity, Caitlyn and Coby. Thank you to everyone who raised money as we will use it for purchasing resources for all our students. We hope all students enjoyed their prizes they received for participating in this fundraiser. On behalf of the teachers and support staff at Mary Brooksbank School, I thank all parents and community members for their continued support of our school, our programs and our students. I wish everyone a very restful and peaceful holiday break and look forward to working with you all again in 2016. Regards, Jennifer Neradovsky Principal
This year 5 of our students from Mary Brooksbank School were lucky enough to be selected to perform at the annual Schools
Spectacular ‘This Is Our World’ 2015 showcase. Tomasi T, Nicholas A, Joanne B, Monica L and Zachary P represented our
school extremely well making Alana and Myriam so proud. The Students performed the 60’s classic ‘Colour My World’ with a
modern up tempo style. The students were amazing both on and off the stage. While performing like superstars in front of
crowds of up to 20,000 creating new friendships and rekindling old ones we cant wait to do it all again next year.

February 2016
Dear Families, Friends, Staff and Community of MBS Well we are almost at the end of another year! This year has been incredibly busy and incredibly productive for both the P&C Association and the students and staff here at MBS. Our fundraising events have been a great success and it has been such a thrill to see that money put to good use in many areas around the school. As the school continues to grow (and age) it is really important that equipment, resources and facilities are kept up to date and accessible to all our students. The P&C remains committed to ensuring that all our kids have access to the best facilities and learning experiences possible. We would like to extend a massive 'THANKYOU!' to all families and friends who have been involved in our various fundraisers this year for your generosity. Congratulations to all the award winners and graduates at this year's Presentation Day. It was absolutely beautiful to watch the pride with which each and every recipient accepted their awards. Our year 12 graduates looked fantastic in their caps and gowns, no doubt a very special memory for the families and friends who came to celebrate this milestone with them. We want to wish them every success for their futures and will genuinely miss them. Good luck Boys! We hope you are all enjoyed the 'Family Christmas Fun Day'! Thankyou to everyone that came along and helped make this a day to remember. We had so many fun activities planned, we hope that you let your hair down and joined in the fun. Next year will be full of exciting and important events, in particular keep a look out for more information about a number of National Disability Insurance Scheme workshops that will be hosted at the school. These will provide you with vital important information about how funding will change as of 1st July 2016 and what you need to do to get ready for the NDIS. Also, if you didn't manage to place an order for your child's sports shirt this year we will be putting through another order at the start of term 1 next year (you can contact the office for further information or for an order form). Finally… To all students, staff, families and friends of MBS, The P&C Association would like to wish you a very very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and prosperous New Year! Can't wait to see all those smiling eager faces back next year. All the very best, MBS P&C Association.
Don’t forget that you are able to order when school returns if you have not already pre-purchased.
