LITURGICAL ROLES for May 18th & 19th
On Mother’s Day families pay special tribute to their moms in various ways
such as cards, flowers, breakfast in bed or at McDonald’s, lunch at a nice
restaurant, long distance calls, and special gifts. These are just a few of the
ways families might say thanks to mom, and that it as it should be. But too
often Mother’s Day is simply a time when families attempt to atone for an
entire year of neglect, indifference, misuse, disrespect and a lack of
thoughtfulness and genuine appreciation. A mother is someone whom God
has chosen for a most special lifelong mission: take care of this beloved
child of God whose care has been entrusted to her. Please reflect on this
thought from Washington Irving:
A mother is the best friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes
the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicker
around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the
clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.
En el Día de la Madre, las familias rinden un homenaje especial a sus madres de

FUN FEST 2019 Last Friday, several hundred people were enjoying a beautiful afternoon at Fun Fest. Kids had a blast playing carnival games, going down the giant inflatable slide, challenging a friend to the obstacle course, running around the block for a donut, enjoying snow cones, and so much more! Fun Fest was huge success! The committee is very grateful to everyone who donated money, gift cards, items from businesses, and/or
items from the donation board. All of these donations helped us cover the expenses it takes to host an event the size of Fun Fest. We are in awe of the number of adults and youth that volunteered at Fun Fest. It takes over 100 people for the event to run smoothly. Thank you for coming to Fun Fest to have dinner (we sold out of all 240 hot dogs and over 500 steak tacos!), buying your plants from the plant sale, buying raffle tickets, and/or just praying for the event. Your prayers were heard! We had a gorgeous day and a very profitable event!! We made around $14,000! Thank you so much for supporting St. Francis Catholic School. We are truly blessed. 150TH CELEBRATION T-SHIRTS
T-shirts celebrating 150 years of our Catholic
Community may be ordered after all Masses on
May 18-19, June 1-2, and June 15-16. The shirts
will be available in colors blue, green and grey
and in sizes small Youth through XXL+ Adult.
