While serving 772 students in Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade, Marshall Elementary (MES) provides differentiated and challenging curricu-lum for all students. Our population includes students with a variety of backgrounds and abili-ties. MES is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Caro-lina Graduate by focusing on world class knowledge, world class skills and life and career characteristics. MES helps students develop by providing world class knowledge to ensure stu-dents are college and career ready. The curricu-lum at MES encompasses the four major content areas of ELA, mathematics, science and social studies as well as the arts. Teachers plan rigorous lessons using the SC standards and curriculum resources. Student performance is monitored through analyzing data from various means to include formal and informal assessments. The instructional leadership team, known as the A-Team assists the staff with maintaining a strong Professional Learning Community (PLC) and providing teachers with expertise on understand-ing and tracking data to inform instruction. The weekly PLC meetings are centered on using stu-dent data to make informed decisions about in-struction and intervention. Our efforts help to ensure that students are provided with optimal learning on our campus.

The SIC and the Strategic Planning Committee has identified several goals for MES to include:

Increase student achievement

Increased parental engagement

School beautification
