GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Volunteer Training Site-Tullahoma (VTS-T) will conduct the TY 2021 TAG Matches forthe Pistol and Rifle Marksmanship Proficiency Training Exercise. The pistol and rifleevents are separate IOT to facilitate a training oriented event with three days allocatedper weapon system. Each Major Supported Command (MSC) will be responsible forproviding orders or allowing Soldiers/Airmen to split drill. The top Soldiers/Airmen thatparticipate in 2020 pistol and rifle matches will be eligible to be contacted to participatein future Regional and National matches.

2. The purpose of the exercise is to promote marksmanship skills and training. Thismarksmanship training exercises, offers service members from the Army and Air NationalGuard, an opportunity to test, hone and advance their marksmanship skills and weaponsystems in a training and battle-focused environment. Thursday is a travel day for thoseoutside commuting area and the Friday of each respective match will be a small armsclinic, with live fire training, training/competition begins on the Saturday of each respectivematch.

3. Eligibility: Each TN National Guard MSC is encouraged to send at least one four manteam to participate. Teams should remain in MSC integrity; however individual shooterswill be accommodated.

a. Individual Classifications: Individual classification is Pro, Open, or Novice.A Novice participant is one who has never participated in any discipline at the TAG match or higher before. An Open participant is one who has participated at the TAG Match in prior years. A Pro participant is one who has shot on the “A” team at WPW Match.

b. Classifications: All participants that have fired on the A Team during the WPW07 or later are considered Old participants. Teams must have a minimum of 50% new (novice) shooters, with no more than one Pro shooter per team.

c. Excellence in Competition (EIC) Matches: Credit points are awarded to thetop 10% of non-distinguished participants, earning EIC marksmanship badges.

d. Civilians: Civilian personnel are prohibited from competing in the TAG match.All participants must be in a military duty status and on orders, split drill status, or in a points - no pay order status. Note: Additional funding is not available to support competitors pay and allowances.

e. Registration: Individual registration forms and team declarations will be filledout and turned-in upon arrival at the Range Operations Classroom (ROC).

b. All participants must be in a duty status. Status may be No Pay/Points OnlyOrder, Split Drill, or Pay Order. No Pay orders will be generated using PMC/TDC: 1N0/57Q and ERC: 21_TAG_MATCHES. Units are responsible for providing transportation and meals for the participants. DTS Orders are not authorized for TNARNG participants. Billeting is available at VTS-T per instructions below.

c. Upon arrival to VTS-T, all participants must first report to the Range OperationsClassroom in order to sign in and complete any necessary registration, as well as, obtain information on practice times or event changes. Match headquarters will be the Range Operations Bldg. 2730 VTS-T. All participants can then report to the VTS-T Base Operations Headquarters building for billeting. All participants must be registered prior to the first shot fired by 0900, Friday of registration.

d. GSA vehicles are encouraged but orders can be keyed to allow transport ofgovernment weapons on POVs if necessary.

e. Teams are responsible for weapons security. All weapons must be signedin upon arrival and tested for trigger weight and function. Weapons will can be taken into quarters/barracks only, and should NOT be stored in vehicles, taken off VTS-T, or left unattended. Failure to follow this policy will result in disqualification. Teams electing to not stay off base can coordinate to store weapons at the VTS-T Arms Room. A weapon cleaning area will be provided near the Range Operations Classroom. Individuals are responsible for their own cleaning equipment.

f. All competitors must meet height/weight/dress standards of AR 600-9 and ANG36-2903

g. Uniform: ACUs, OCP or ABUs, load bearing equipment (LBE), and kevlarhelmet. Kevlar helmets will be worn with the chin strap fastened. Protective masks are NOT required.

h. Meals are not provided and lunch will occur on the range. BringMREs/snacks/water as needed.

i. Emergency Numbers at VTS-T, TN: 931-454-1967 Range Operations. Familymembers who wish to contact a participant during the matches may phone VTS-T Base Operations Headquarters at commercial phone 931-393-5885 during normal business hours 0730 – 1600.

j. Billeting is available. Soldiers/Airmen electing to stay in the barracks areresponsible for their own linen, pillow, and towel as well as clean-up of the facilities. There are a limited amount of two man rooms and single rooms, as well as, open bay barracks that will be at a first come first serve basis.

5. Weapons:

a. MSCs/Units are responsible for providing weapons. If your unit does not haveM17/M18 handguns, a limited number of will be available for competitors to use during the Pistol Match.

b. Service Rifle: Service Rifle M4 issued by the US Army/USAF. All weaponswill be subject to technical inspection and trigger testing upon sign in to the arms room. No combinations of these parts.

c. Weapons Optics: ACOG or M68 authorized.

d. Service Pistol: Only the Beretta M9 or the SIG M11, M17 or M18 or will be

allowed. Commercial equivalents of any pistol or rifle will NOT be allowed** (**exception to previous surplus M17 Army issued weapon). All weapons will be subject to technical inspection and trigger testing upon sign in to the arms room.

Minimum trigger weights: M/9 (double action) - 9.6 lbs. (single action) - 4.1 lbs.

M11 (double action) - 9.0 lbs. (single action) - 4.25 lbs.

All weapons may be inspected at any time throughout the course of the competition.

6. Meetings: There will be a mandatory competitors meeting and safety briefing at 0700,!Friday of each respective Match in the Range Operations Classroom (ROC). Allcompetitors must attend safety briefing to compete.

7. Rules: This match will be conducted under the WPW rules for 20ÔÁ with the exceptions!noted in this bulletin. The Range OIC and SMC are authorized to make necessarychanges to accommodate the conduct of the Match. Range NCOIC’s to make!notifications of any changes during the match.

8. Range Commands: The commands are Lock, Load, Off Safe, and Watch & Shootor Watch Move & Shoot. It is critical that each competitor be familiar with these!commands.

9. Local Weather Conditions: Wet weather and cold weather gear should be brought.!Matches will not be stopped due to bad weather, unless by order from Range Control.

10. Ammunition: Competitors will be supplied ammunition thru TN Small Arms!Readiness Team.

c. Optical Aids:1. Team Captains and coaches may use issue or commercial equivalent

binoculars, not to exceed 10x50 power. 2. Spotting scopes or binoculars up to 10x50 power are authorized for competitors,

but not required. 3. Altering, covering or modifying eyeglass lenses is not permitted. Sighting

devices, such as lens apertures, clip on iris, or an eye patch covering the non-firing eye, are not authorized. Knobloch adjustable glasses or its equivalent are not authorized.

d. Non firing members will carry their weapons, unloaded and locked open.e. Ponchos are the only authorized ground mat.f. Teams will be disqualified and not allowed to fire if equipment is not worn or carried

in the manner intended.g. Rifle Shooters shall have a minimum of 4 magazines.h. Pistol Shooters shall have a minimum of 4 magazines.

12. MATCH SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Clinic/Practice:The Rifle and Pistols clinics will begin at 0700 in the ROC on 25 Aug 2021 and!20Aug 2021. Ranges will be open for training exercises following PMI from 1000!hrs– 1600 hrs.Rifle and Pistol Matches PISTOL course of fire and match day schedule will be published in June 2021

*Scoring of the Bianchi Battle Team Match will be discussed at the 0700 brief on 25Jun 2021.

The highest Aggregate score will determine the TAG Matches Team Champion.

15. Additional Match information. All competitors will return to home station with a!current weapons qualification scorecards. The Phil Chockley Top Gun Award will be!presented to the individual with the highest pistol and highest rifle overall scores. Proparticipant shooters are not eligible for any individual Awards other than the PhilChockley Top Gun Award, in which only Pro participant shooters are eligible.

16. Competitors are encouraged to bring guidons for display on firing line.

17. There are no rank limitations for team members.
